It has been raining every day with the exception of last Thursday which was a warm and sunny day. Eva phoned in the morning and suggested we went out for lunch, and visit the place where we had seen a few deer. I was eager to return to see if there were more there, and the thought of eating out was very appealing, so within a half hour we were ready and set off for our deer destination. When we arrived we were both disappointed that even though there were more deer, they were far away and spread out over a large area which made taking photos difficult, and we were also shooting into the sun. Some of the does which looked little more than fawns were pregnant with rounded bellies and to me looked far too young to be expectant.
Needless to say I was thrilled to be watching and photographing the Fallow Deer.
Goodbye deer, now on to lunch
Shaded part of pátio and ice cream counter. It was early for lunch, we were the first customers. The restaurant is situated in a forested area, ideal for nature walks.
We sat in the sun, and whilst we ordered and waited for lunch, ordered drinks .
Restaurant window
We were surrounded by beautiful plants and on one side huge boulders.
On the other side of the pateou was the entrance to the hiking trail.
A closer shot.
We were surrounded by these pretty plants, Vinca I think.
Whilst we were enjoying lunch we could hear the familiar noise of a chainsaw, so we decided to go for a walk after we had finished eating our delicious lunch, finishing with two large slices of coconut cake, We finished drinking our wine and had a coffee which was excellent then went in search of the noise we had heard..
We followed the direction of the chainsaw noise and soon saw the men cutting the huge tree trunk.
We were told that the tree had fallen during the stormy weather.
We watched for a while and saw the second portion sawed through. It took the man a long time to reach the bottom of the tree trunk, I kept wishing that the man on the right would move his hand away!
I will be linking up to "Saturday's Critters"Click on the icon on the right sidebar to get there, where you will see many different creatures from around the globe.

We have had a bit of rain this week as well but it's finally getting warmer. It's been around 50 all week but I don't think it's here to stay.
That's one huge tree trunk!
Your deer look small... Big rack!!
so pretty there...
you were so lucky to see so many beautiful deer, with "nice" racks too!! the restaurant is adorable, the plants surrounding it are gorgeous, i think vinca's also. you did not share a picture of what you had to eat!!
Dear Sonjia :)
Such beautiful pictures you have taken of the fawn. They don't look like "my" deer, and they are a completely different animal. They are very pretty. There are beautiful flowers growing there. I consider Vinca to be a weed, because they spread very much in a garden. They are so beautiful, but I don't want them in the garden. I already have enough weeds.
Many warm hugs!
Marit
The nature is seemingly embracing and inclusive
hurray for the bandage off and just cream.. yay and yay again. that herd of deer is beyond amazing to me. I have never seen antlers like theirs and have never seen a single deer in real life except in photos or a zoo... color me jealous
The deer are lovely. I noticed the man with his hand on the trunk. Yikes!
The deer look so sweet. (ツ) from Jenn Jilks , ON, Canada!
So beautiful there. The deer are so peaceful looking and the blooms are so pretty. It sounds like a lovely day with a great companion.
All delightful photos my friend. Those deer are incredible and have the prettiest antlers. Each photo is a work of art. How wonderful to eat ice cream in the middle of all that precious nature. I am so happy to read that your wound has finally healed. I leave smiling at this good news. Wishing you a very happy week.
The deer are so sweet! What a pity that giant tree didn't survive the storm.
Dear Sonjia,
You saw so many deer, too bad they were so far away.
A lot of trees fall over during a storm, that happens here too.
Really a shame for the tree and for nature.
I wish you a nice Wednesday.
Greetings Irma
Good morning Dear Sonjia. How lovely it is for Eva to call you spontaneously and suggest lunch. My daughter lives a six-hour drive from here, so that’s unlikely to happen! More’s the pity. What a fabulous destination too. The deer are so appealing, even at a distance, but some did approach closely for pictures. I hope the drinks were good, and the lunch too. You were blessed with good company, Eva at the table and the deer in the field. Good news on the medical front rounded out the afternoon. It was a great day. Hugs and kisses - David
Hi Sonija, real lovely nature with so many flowers already ! And even if the deers were far away you managed very well. That was a huge tree logg, greeteings Lasse
Hello, It's been a while since I've come to see
what's new.
I loved the pictures, the deer
are beautiful! Beautiful pictures.
The flowers, the foliage are very pretty; when someone
turns on the chainsaw around here I always go to take a look at
the way they're using it.
A huge log that they were cutting down, with all that wood you can get lots of ideas.
Have a good week ahead.
Janice.
Wow, beautiful animals. Some have amazing horns.
Nice to hear that the healing is going so well.
Thanks for the great photos of the deer, it's a pleasure to look at the pictures.
I wish you a very nice evening
Those deer are so peaceful and beautiful. I love the sweet one looking straight at you! And what a lovely spot to have your lunch, which also sounds loads of fun. I'm longing for the day when I can eat outside again!
Looks like a charming place to have lunch. Your deer have very impressive antlers.
Deer are always interesting to watch - unfortunately here they are a pest species, although I still like seeing them!

I am pleased to see that the weather has improved there. I love the deer pictures. Are they Fallow Deer? That looks like a great spot for lunch. It will be a long time until it is warm enough for us to eat outdoors here!
What a lovely day out! The deer photos are beautiful, even if they were a bit far away.
Hello Sonjia,
What a lovely outing! I would be happy see all those deer, they are beautiful critters. Great series of photos. Your lunch spot looks nice, pretty views and flowers. I am glad you wound is healed. Thank you for your critter post and sharing your link! Take care, have a wonderful weekend.
What a wonderful day out, cute deer and lunch outside! 8C here, a tad cold still.
Beautiful post
Beautiful post
I hope you continue to heal and feel better. The antlers on these deer are so much larger than the small deer we see here in Florida. WOW!
Hello Dear Sonjia, First of all, you picked a perfect title for this post. I love the way you described your brunch with Eva at the delightful restaurant. Thanks for sharing all the sweet photos of deer. It gives me the sense that the location was very peaceful. Sad about the big tree coming down and being cut up, but this is the way nature goes. Hopefully they will make good use of the wood. Lastly, thanks for the health update … it sounds good. Before closing, I just wanted to add a special thanks for your very kind comment you recently left on my blog. Thank you, Sonjia, as always, for sharing! Best regards to you from Seattle! John
...hurray for the good medical news. These beautiful deer are Fallow Deer I assume, the antler are interesting. Sonjia, take care and be well.
I enjoyed seeing your photographs, a lovely day out.
That's good news your wound has now closed ...
Wishing you a happy and good month of March.
All the best Jan

look like a great, calm and peace place to visit.....
thank you for sharing beautiful pictures...
Hiciste un precioso reportaje, me alegra que lo pasaras feliz con tu hija, y que tu herida ya esté curada. Te dejo un abrazo fuerte.
Dear Sonija, your deer photos turned out wonderfully. I hope that there haven't been too many "teenage pregnancies" here! The "boys" also look relatively young, but from what I can tell from their antlers, they are not sooooo young. (Perhaps you will go on a trip a little later in the spring and check whether there have been many offspring?)
You went on a lovely trip with your daughter, and the restaurant is in a fantastic location. But the sound of chainsaws would have scared me away rather than attracted me 😉... What a pity about the beautiful giant tree!
All the best and have a lovely March, Traude

Querida Sonjia me alegra saber que tu herida esta curada.
El reportaje es precioso, me encantan los Gamos, aquí viven salvajes en algunas zonas, pero hacerles una fotografía es muy difícil. Besos y abrazos.
Beautiful post
