On the 17th of March imagine my surprise when I opened the wooden shutters to find it wasn't raining. It wasn't sunny either but at least it was fine weather which lasted for 4 days. I couldn't wait to get outside and take some photos around the house to share on my blog.These are some of the photos I took. Most of the stone steps are covered in leaves. I landscaped the terrain and at the time the steps were made, we had two stone masons working on them. It didn't always look like this, as we had two gardeners that worked in the garden every day, and also in my extended garden shown in the photos, but times change, and the vibrant colour that was everywhere disappeared leaving a more natural look. I do what I can in the garden as I always did, but now that I'm older it takes it's toll, especially since I'm on my own.I remain young at heart however, and still enjoy life as I have much to be thankful for and never forget to count my blessings.I was listening to Rod Stewart's "It's a wonderful world" this morning as I was having breakfast and singing along full of the joys of spring.It's spring folks. lets enjoy it!

your garden/yard estate is stunning to me, I am a huge fan of natural. I do love it and would like to walk Beau down that road every day... we have to be so careful when walking because we are on a busy street and drivers are crazy. so happy you had days to get outside and woo hoo on springtime
...Sonjia, for 50 years I was in the landscape-nursery business and can tell you that the "natural look" is best! Thanks for taking me along to see these fabulous sights. The Eurasian Jay in perhaps a Larch is sweet. I have a potted variegated ivy that I've trained into wreath, at Christmas I add a small red poinsettia. The purple vetch? pops! I completely agree with you, the world is beautiful – and it's most beautiful for people who know how to enjoy it and are grateful. We definitely are, and it's sad for all those who can't recognize beauty and only think about money and the exploitation of resources. They're not only dangerous, but they also lead unpleasant lives.
Back to your beautiful nature photos: I think it's wonderful how nature and the landscaped paths and steps visually connect with each other, and how much plant and animal life finds space in your latifundia. I really understand that you can't physically do as much anymore, it's the same here: Last week, we started removing a lot of the ivy that's overgrowing the flowerbeds – and my back isn't happy about it at all... (To be honest, my back is actually very unhappy at the moment, but I'm not going to let it ruin my life 😉) Well, we're not getting any younger – but it's good that we haven't forgotten how to enjoy life. (I even believe "the opposite" - that certainly applies to me: The older I get, the more I can appreciate and enjoy the beauty, life, and nature around me!)
Thank you for passing on the rain to us - it was much too dry here, and now it's raining and watering our gardens properly!

I can totally picture your garden and the changes over time. It’s great that you still find joy in nature and keep a positive outlook. Singing along to Rod Stewart and soaking in the season sounds like a perfect way to start the day.

It certainly is a wonderful world! I love the start of spring - the warmer weather, longer days and so much promise. Your property also looks wonderful. For me there is nothing nicer than a garden that has matured and returned a bit to nature. I love coming across old steps and walls and unexpected plants!

Very pretty. I live in a condominium in a tiny house, our
space is small but the interesting thing is that we have
many big trees mixed with flowers and an orchard.
I'm increasingly removing the flowers to have a more
natural place; it's a lot of work and I'm too old to work
so much anymore. The blue bush is called Bella Emilia.
