Thankfully it has been raining heavily for two days, so now the fires are well and truly out, and the garden has also benefited from these downpours. We have also been experiencing very unpleasant blustery winds that lift the fallen leaves swirling high up into the air, and there is also an autumnal chill in the air, so there has been no chance of being outdoors in this sudden change of weather. My daughter Eva takes me to physio and drops me off at the door and picks me up afterwards. Nothing much is happening on my balcony, a few birds quickly fly in to the feeders but just as quickly fly away, so I was without inspiration and at a loss as to what to post, until I thought of all the animals that I have collected over the years, so I hope you will enjoy seeing the miniatures and regular sized animal ornaments I have in my bedroom
Each square measures 3x3cm
Probably best seen like this
Some miniatures only just fit, but most measure 2 cm or less
The doves on the top of the bird cabinet were the decoration on top of the cake when my late husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary
I keep birds in this cabinet
Statue of St Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of animals.stands on top of the cabinet

Dear Sonjia :)
Your miniatures are so sweet! The birds in the cabinet looks very beautiful. I like porcelain figurines. You must have collected them for many years.
I'm glad you have got a lot of rain. The weather has turned chilly here too. Only 5 degrees C last night.
Take care, and all the best to you my dear friend!
Many warm hugs!
Marit
My mom collected chickens. I collect cat whiskers. :)
What an awesome collection!
The recent rains have brought some much-needed relief, both for the fires and for your garden! It's interesting how quickly the weather can shift, ushering in that unmistakable autumn chill. It’s wonderful that your daughter Eva is there to help you with your physio appointments.
I can see how the change in weather might affect the activity on your balcony, but it's lovely that you've found inspiration in your collection of animal ornaments! Those miniatures and regular-sized pieces must hold so many memories and stories.
Thank you for inviting us into your world, even during this quieter time.
By the way, I just shared a new post on my blog.
Good to hear that the fires have been put out.
Your menagerie of animals is beautiful. A great collection. Thanks for showing.
Wish you a very nice weekend
So pleased to read that after a lot of rain the wild fires are out.
Here in the UK many areas have too much rain and there has been flooding!
Of course in and around Florida there is Hurricane Helene.
I hope all who may read my comment stay safe.
On a positive note, I did enjoy seeing the photographs of your miniatures, you do have quite a large collection :)
Wishing you a good weekend.
All the best Jan
I love the miniatures. They are all special in their own way. Quite a collection.
The detail to those miniatures is amazing! I would not have the patience or skill to do something like that.
What beautiful miniatures you have collected.
I especially like the birds in photo 11 and 14, they are really great to see.
I wish you a good weekend.
Greetings Irma
I am wholeheartedly glad that the fires are out. They are becoming an annual event and terrifying in their ferocity. As the planet warms I can’t believe that the situation is going to improve. That is an amazing collection you have there, Sonjia. I have quite a few myself but nowhere close to what you have. They all bring pleasure and many of them rekindle memories of the places I acquired them. I am sure you find that too. Eva seems like a wonderful daughter and takes good care of you. It’s terrific that she lives close by. My only daughter lives a six hour drive away, so she wouldn’t be much help if I needed her in a hurry! Hugs and kisses - David
What a lovely collection of miniatures!
Hello Sonjia,
I am so glad you had some rain and the fires are out.
Your miniature collection is beautiful. I love all the birds and the animals. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a wonderful weekend.
Your collections are immense! So many tiny porcelain sculptures! It must be fun to look over them and remember when and where you obtained them.

...Sonjia, I see that you are a collector, I have a collection of collections. Rain in the right amount can be a blessing, take care and be well.
Lovely miniatures.
I love miniatures!
Each one is more beautiful than the last.
What a fun collection of animals. My father had a parrot very like the one you have. I wonder where he got it from. No doubt somewhere on his very extensive travels!
I hope you are a bit more mobile and have managed to sort out you computer issues.
That is a sweet collection of creatures that you have, Sonjia. Thanks for showing them.
What a beautiful collection of miniatures, each one a special memory.
What a beautiful collection of miniatures. I have a shelf on my wall similar to the first one with a variety of seashells. I love the way you've arranged your sweet animals and birds!
What a nice collection you have so far there. Liked them all very much. The rain is frequent here now too and had surprised me on a walk too. Autumn with the wind and rain does not let me go outside much now either. Nice that you had help to bring you to the physio and pick you up again. Wishing you cozy days at home despite the rain. Gteetings Tine from the Netherlands.
What a lovely collection of miniatures you have!
Glad to hear that the fires have been put out.
I especially love the doves and the statue of St. Francis.
Happy Monday, Sonjia!
Me alegra que por fin se apagarán los fuegos. Tu colección se ve bonita, especialmente los pájaros. Besos.
I like your collections Sonjia.... The carved painted birds are so lovely, some of them look so real I had to stop and think! Before we retired and downsized our life (sold our house to go traveling) I had some miniatures displayed in a wall cabinet ...my daughter has most of them now! Sometimes I really miss them and the rest of my "things" that we sold or gave away, but other times I am glad I don't have to dust them ;>).... I hope your physio-therapy is going well and is helping.
Dear Sonjia, your animal miniatures are fascinating - and you have such a large collection! It is clear to see that you have a great passion for animals. (There are a few animals in my two display cases, too, but also a lot of other small items like shells, stones, old matchboxes, etc.)
I just read your post about the wildfires, that sounds terrible - and once again so much nature has been destroyed. (In Austria and surrounding contries we had floodings because of too much rain and you had too little of it.) It's good that the fires are now over.
Your animal photos from the previous post were great again.
Thank you for writing me a comment despite your broken keyboard, I hope the problem can be easily fixed. (I had that once too and needed a new keyboard...)
All the best and happy October days,
Traude

What a blessing that the fires were put out and that the rain came.
We had a lot of rain this summer and the meadows were always green. There's also no leaf coloring yet... I think at the end of October... it will be very nice.
Your collections are great and very diverse. A lot of fun and thank you very much.
A hug comes to you from Viola to you.
p.s. I once visited Assisi.
Delightful collectibles my friend. I love all of them. The animals and birds are always dear to me. When I was a young girl in school I joined Friends of the Animals and St. Francis of Assisi was their Patron Saint. I feel an affinity towards Saint Francis even today. So glad your daughter is close by. I hope your physiotherapy is helping. I am dealing with a badly sprained knee at the moment so I can relate somewhat. Wishing you a return to good health Sonjia and I hope your Autumn is treating you well.
Dear Sonjia, I hope you are well!!!!!
Hugs and all the best from Austria, Traude

Cute little critters!
Dear Sonjia :) Wow, the animal ornaments must represent a treasury of memories. Thank you for sharing them. Especially sweet: The doves on the top of the bird cabinet that were decorations on the cake when you can your late husband celebrated 50! Great idea to share the ornaments while visitors to the balcony have slowed. I was traveling for a while and missed some of your post, so went back and looked at them today. I enjoyed your photos in Forest Fires and Mostly Birds (Sept 19) and Observations in My Garden and Balcony (Sept 14). Thank you, Sonjia, for sharing your blog. Take good care! John
Obrigada pela visita.
janice.
Greetings Sonjia, just checking in with you. No reply needed, I wanted to let you know I was thinking about you and popped in to say hello 😊 xx
Querida Sonjia muchas gracias por compartir tu hermosa colección, es impresionante. Muchos besos. Espero te encuentres bien
Dear Sonjia, I'm so sorry that you're still having problems with your keyboard - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a solution soon! Thank you for taking the trouble to write to me anyway...

It’s wonderful that the rain has helped with the fires and refreshed your garden. Despite the blustery winds, it’s great that you’ve found inspiration in your collection of animal ornaments. Each piece seems to carry such a personal story, like the doves from your 50th wedding anniversary. It’s touching how these objects bring memories to life, even on days when the weather keeps us indoors.
How is Saturday going? Read my new post. Thank you. https://www.melodyjacob.com/2024/11/holiday-glam-budget-christmas-outfit-ideas.html
Stopping by to say hello and sending good wishes to you.
All the best Jan
