THE SPARROW.

Dear fellow bloggers my Grandson Pedro arrived on Saturday for his usual extended stay of two months. He arrived with my daughter Eva who had picked him up at the station, so we had dinner together and it  was a lovey reunion. I am looking forward to his company during his stay, and for that reason I may not post or visit as often,  as I would like to spend as much time as possible with Pedro. I still have overdue visits to make and will make sure I reciprocate the comments I have received. Next month it is customary for Pedro and I to celebrate our  June birthdays together as the dates are not too far apart and it will be a lovely family celebration. So many exciting days ahead to anticipate. I have only one photo to share with you this time of the humble sparrow. See you soon!

Wróble to skromne ptaszki ale ja je bardzo lubię.

As others have said, Sonjia, it’s a wonderful portrait of the sparrow. I expect she will be asking for viewing rights to bring her friends to see it! Have a wonderful time with Pedro and check in with us from time to time if you have a chance. I hope the summer will not be oppressively hot and that wildfires decide to give it a rest for this year. Hugs and kisses - David

Happy birthday To you and Pedro. Enjoy his visit. We must take advantage of these times. They don't last very long or come often enough.

My Dear Sonjia,
Lovely portrait of your sparrow. I am pleased to report that I have ordered a cover for my meal worm feeder so that the carrion crows cannot eat the lot before the little birds can have some, and I have also been told how to get meal worms in larger quantities at a lower price. A greater variety of birds are now visiting my garden and bird feeders, including a magpie, great tit,a robin as well as blute tits and sparrows
I am sure you will have a lovely time with Pedro and Eva.

Dear Sonjia,
Sparrows are always cute photo subjects :-)
I am happy that you have a two-month visit from your grandson and that you had a nice dinner with him and your daughter. Family moments like this are priceless and valuable, make the most of the time and enjoy it! We will wait patiently here until you have more time for the blogging world again!
All the best, Traude

PS: You asked me a while ago about the funny planted mincer in my garden and what it means: My father was a butcher and used exactly the same mincer at home when I was a child. In a gardening journal I saw how someone had planted in various kitchen appliances, and I liked that idea. Unfortunately the original mincer was no longer available, but a nice neighbor of my parents had a mincer in his basement and gave it to me to plant :-)

An underrated bird I think - although it would have better if they had never been brought to Australia.
