My daughter Eva and I did make a return visit to the Sara Moreira Park , but instead of driving all the way there, we decided to park the car in town, and walk along the board walk to reach the park another way. It was about 5.00 pm when we started our walk and we arrived 40 mins later. It's a walk that usually takes 30 mins, but I stopped many times to take photos. It's a very pleasant walk and here are a few images I took along the way, and some rather dark images taken in the shade inside the park. I am going to press the little pencil to add more to this post that I should have mentioned earlier.
I must tell you that we visited the park before the heat wave, some time in April, when it was much cooler, and before my accident. The result of the xrays I took two weeks ago, show that my ribs have not healed, and there is a misalignment in one of them. I knew that something just wasn't right, but have to wait to see the doctor again.
All the photos I took are of the narrowest part of the river.
A colourful duck in one image, with eyes open, and the other with eyes shut.
The Jay was in deep shade. As you can see, food on the ground was plentiful.
The only butterfly I saw, a very pale Speckled Wood.
Some wild flowers caught my attention.

I think this is a beautiful park for a walk.
There is much to see about flowers and birds.
I enjoyed your photos
Greetings Irma
What a lovely selection of photos! I love the critters, but that sculpture is lovely!

Amazing park and wonderful photos!
Hi Sonjia,
I guess it's best to walk in the afternoon when it's not so warm outside.
Beautiful photos of the duck. It looks like it's sleeping.
The wild flowers are very pretty too.
All the best, and hugs from Marit
such a beautiful park, and the best time of day is when the shadows are long, be it evening or morning. perfect light unless we have to shoot into the light. beautiful duck and I am so glad you are able to get out and walk in all the beauty.
Lovely capture of the park and birds! The evening light always brings the dark shades, so I prefer morning photos, but I take more pictures in the evening light. I hope you both had a good time around the park. Have a nice day.
Healing ribs are a painful and slow process. I am sorry to read you are still in discomfort and I hope the trip to the docs will provide some relief.
Thank you for taking us on this delightful walk. You certainly saw a lot of wonderful sights.
I'm so sorry to hear of your continuing problem with your ribs, Sonjia. I hope that something can be done to rectify the situation.
That park looks like a wonderful place to walk through - full of beauty and wildlife, and with fabulous sculptures too! Thank you for sharing your walk with us.
I will not offer you hugs from UK as, in your condition, they would be painful, so I will just say take good care and stay safe - - - Richard
What a lovely place and so much wildlife. I am so sorry you haven't healed fully. I hope you are back to full health soon.
By the beautiful photos, you did enjoyed the walk to the park. So sorry that there is a misalignment in your ribs. I hope the doctor will be able to make it good again. Take things easy and stay safe.
Once again you capture the feeling of peace in the park. Sorry to learn about your rib.I hope your doctor will find an answer.
Hello Sonjia: I am always happy when one of your posts pops up. Sorry to hear that your ribs are not healing as they should. I have never had such an injury, but I can imagine how it must affect almost every other movement. Your walk through the park with Eva was no doubt delightful. In addition to the wonders of nature you had the pleasure of your daughter's company, and that is always special. My daughter lives about a six hour drive from here, so walks in the park together don't happen too often! All your pictures are outstanding but I especially like the capture of the treecreeper. Take care of those ribs. This is one time when it is perhaps better that the hugs I am sending are virtual! All the best - David
Dearest Sonjia,
I am very happy for you that you were able to take this wonderful walk with your daughter before your accident and before the great heat wave! It's a beautiful environment and you've seen a lot of pretty animals. I also know that some animals are a bit camera shy or it's only possible to take a single photo - but it's better than nothing!
On the other hand, it is not fine that your healing is not progressing as well as hoped!!! I'm very sorry about that and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that things will get better soon!
Hugs, all the best and have a pleasant weekend,
Traude

You got a lot of good photos and is was nice weather to walk. It always takes me extra time because of stopping to take pics. Love the velvety blackbird!
Hi Sonjia, Your blog is an inspiration to me and I am sorry to hear your recovery is not going as well as could be. Despite that challenge you have put together another wonderful post sharing your views of nature. Sara Moreira Park is surely a beautiful place. Congrats on all the neat captures! I liked what David said in his comment and I will echo that: “This is one time when it is perhaps better that the hugs I am sending are virtual!” 😊 Best regards to you from Seattle! John

Beautiful photos. Glad you enjoyed the walk with your daughter. Thanks for sharing.
...on this extremely hot day the water looks refreshing! Enjoy your new week, Sonjia.
Hi Sonia. That's a nice looking park you have so close to home. It seems to have a good variety of birds too. I'm sorry to hear that you're still not 100per cent but living where you in the sunshine of Iberia must be helping your recovery. Have a good week ahead and maintain your keeping fit.
Absolutely stunning photos you have shown Sonjia. The park is astounding, the birds are beautiful.
I hope you get well.
Wow! Beautiful nature photography ~ love the dove ~

Me ha encantado ver las fotos del paseo con tu hija, se ve todo tan precioso. Espero y deseo que pronto tu costilla se mejore. Un abrazo.
I hope you can soon get that darn rib fixed up right so that you feel 100% yourself again!
This was a lovely walk -- I was glad you let us know it was back in the Spring before the heat wave you had. (And I hope things are better there for you by now in that regard also). I think my next post will be about some walks from an earlier time because it is really hot here this week.
I love the birds and the lovely calm in your post and I really liked learning that I'm not the only person who rambles along taking pictures instead of exercise walking! Thank you for letting me know about that here and in your comment on my blog! (We are feeding our spirit by being out in nature after all -- that's more important than exercise.)
What an incredible series of photos!
So sorry to hear you haven't healed fully.
I hope you are back to full health soon.
