Here are some creatures I see daily, and others I see only now and again, All these images were taken in the garden, where I see fleeting glimpses of Jays, and images of many more Blue-tits than usual this year, and of course the Red Squirrel. One day this week there were five on my balcony. There were enough peanuts in their shells for all of them, and once they had eaten and left, I fed the birds. Sometimes one or another will return but they seem to know that the peanuts they had eaten were for them, and the shelled peanuts are for the birds. Perhaps it's because I have said "Ah," so many times when they have attempted to eat them, that now they just look, and then drink water before leaving again. It's been unbearably hot this week, on some days between 39-40 degrees, and in some areas even hotter.
Same as above.
All the goings on took only a few moments, and then I saw another Jay in the shade.

Hello dear Sonjia,
I'm always so impressed about your photos, and today they are all so beautiful!
The last photo was very nice too. You must play more :)
Hugs from Norway, Marit
Querida amiga nos dejas unas hermosas fotos, preciosas aves, ardillas y caballitos del diablo. Todos ellos son también muy comunes en mi tierra. Un enorme abrazo.
it is pretty and I too do not intend to improve photos but do it for fun because I can't paint or draw. all of the birds are so cute and funny and sweet.
I love the needles on the tree in the first shot, and a few at the end. what type of tree is that? its gorgeous.
What a great series of photos you have taken.
It's great that the squirrel just comes into your garden, where I live they don't come, we can only photograph them when we go on holiday to the Veluwe.
Greetings Irma
Once again great shots. Do you get any water birds around your pool?
A super set of photos, Sonjia. I particulary love the Jays, Red Squirrels, and the Beautiful Demoiselle. Whilst I am rather envious of the fabulous wildlife that visits your garden, I do not envy you that heat! We are getting 'severe heat' warnings for this coming Monday and Tuesday - and that's only for expected temperatures of 36°!
Take greatr care - - - Riochard
It must be amazing to sit on your balcony, Sonjia and enjoy so many wonderful creatures. You certainly seem to have your squirrels well trained if they leave the shelled seed that you set out for the birds. I have been reading of late of the intense heat in Portugal and it sounds really dreadful. I am afraid that I would be housebound. I can handle the coldest day in the winter, but excessive heat is impossible to escape and does me in. Take good care of yourself and of all the wonderful nature around you. Hugs from Ontario - David
You've trained your squirrels well. I use the same technic on my cats, and it works nicely. I always think the Jays there are very beautiful in a more subdued way. It's a joy to see them in your photos. I hope you are doing well, and always wish you the best. Take care.
How obedient are those squirrels LOL. It would be fun to observe these critters from your balcony. The damselfly pics are excellent.
Wonderful serie!
Have a nice weekend.

Love what you did with that shot..Your Blue Tit looks like a small version of our Blue Jay!!..I hope they have better manners..
Wonderful selection of photos. The damsel images, both natural and enhanced, were superb.
...Sonjia, the damselflies are a treat to see. They fly much too fast for me.
Great sightings!! And the photo manipulation is beyond awesome!!

Great shots of the visitors in your garden. Cute squirrel. Beautiful damselflies. Love the photo with its beautiful wings spread out.
I'm stopping over from Rain's Thursday post, and I wanted to say what beautiful photos.
That bird looking right at you sure is funny and I love the squirrel and his acrobatics! The damselfly is gorgeous. When I went fly fishing, that was one of my favorite artificial fly to catch fish!
Your balcony is the best birding blind ever! What gorgeous pictures. The blue tit (which I've never seen in real life) is beautiful. As are all your birds really!... And I am impressed that you've trained your squirrels so well. I have never heard of anyone being able to do that!! You are sepecially talented!!
Such an amazing series of photos!
And how nice to have all these wonderful critters around you!
Thanks for sharing all these amazing photos.
It must be super nice to be able to "catch" all these beautiful birds, squirrels and insects in your garden.
I loved your final composition, it's fantastic.
Hoping my comments are coming through and not going into your spam folder? Blogger has been playing up recently.
These are lovely photographs, especially good to see the red squirrel.
