Coal Tits are one of my favourite birds to photograph, They are a small bird, just 11.5 cm in length, with a wing span of 17. 21 cm, and it's the only bird that has fed out of my hand. It was one of those unforgettable moments that I was privileged to experience. It felt weightless, but in fact it weighs about 8 g, I see them in all kinds of weather, because I feed them nuts and seeds, just like the other Tits which also come for food. Here are a few captures of one I took last week.

Hermosas fotos amiga, sin duda los Carboneros son aves muy confiadas y aquí en mi tierra muy abundantes. Un abrazo. Feliz día
Coal Tit is also one of my favourite garden birds, Sonjia, and you have captured their character beautifully with your photos. They are absolutely delightful to watch, and I tend to think of them as smash-and-grab artists, as they always seem to rush in, grab a seed, and then go to a place with cover to consume the seed before zooming back in again to grab another! I have been trying to photograph them this week but, so far, have not succeeded to get shots anything like up to your standard.
Best wishes - stay safe - - - Richard
Good morning, Sonjia. Coal Tit is in the same family as our Black-capped Chickadee, and they too do not hesitate to feed from the hand. It is a rare moment of magic when a little creature like this lands on your hand. There is a satisfaction derived in no other way than having intimate contact like this with a tiny, trusting bird.i can assure you that it never loses its thrill.i was doing it yesterday in fact.
he is so cute, so adorable, I would love for one to sit on my hand. i have had butterflies sit on my head and arm and hand and shirt but not a bird. black and white is my favorite color scheme and he is gorgeous
these are just like our chickadees and your images are really beautiful. ours are very friendly and tiny like yours, i have never been lucky enough to have one feed from my hand!! i also see mine in all kinds of weather and year round, my bird feeders are always full for them and they know it!!
the details in these pictures are exquisite!!
Hello Sonjia,
They are so lovely. Very beautitul photos!
Hugs, Marit
Hello,
Cute bird, they do look like our Chickadees. Love the photos.
Have a great day and happy week ahead.
Awww such a cute looking bird.
I did enjoy your series of photographs.
How wonderful to have had one feed from your hand ... very special.
Enjoy your week.
All the best Jan
Lovely pictures Sonjia, I used to have them on my feeders but they dissappeared with all the others. I am still trying to encourage them back. Take care.
Mike.
It is such a cute little bird. Have a great day.
These are really lovely pictures, you got all the detail :) We get coal tits here but they flit about a fair bit so I never get a good look at them close up. Can't believe they are so light, you wonder where they find any energy!
In the Netherlands this is the black tit (Parus ater).
This is quite a rare species too.
You took beautiful pictures of it, my compliments.
Greetings Irma
What a wonderful experience. I have never managed to encourage any bird to feed out of my hand although I have tried with a very friendly female blackbird who I once helped to find worms. As usual a lovely batch of photos.
I agree, one of my favorites too ! Great photos !
They are adorable birds and much like our chickadees one of my favorite birds. You captured their personality perfectly. I would love to have one eat out of my hand -- how amazing!!!
Cute bird
Fantastic photos. I liked it. A lot. Have a nice evening.
Very beautiful bird and images ... happy weekend
❤️
Hello,
Your Coat Tit is adorable. I would love to hand feed a wild bird. What a cute collection of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend! PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
I have great difficulty in photographing the Coal Tits that come to our bird feeders. They fly in, snatch a little piece of food and before I have chance to focus, they are gone. Very nice pictures you have there Sonjia.
Cute! Funny name too.
How precious! They remind me of the sweet chickadees we have in our feeder today.
Beautiful photos of the Coal Tit, I enjoyed seeing it close up.
...this is a new one for me. You captured so many wonderful poses!
Wonderful Coal Tit, I love them, playing quick and chase, or it seems that way Sonjia.
congrats to have fed the coal tit in your hand. I find this little one hard to get shots of. It is quick and never stay put long enough for me to get shots. This fall I have only seen it twice. I hope that will change.
Magnificent photography of our feathered friend ~ xo

Beautiful pics! Resembles the Cinereous tits we see here.
Exceptional portraits!! So much beauty in the tiny one. I would love to hand feed it as you do.
Thanks for sharing your post this weekend!
They look much like our chickadees, and we have dozens of them. They are a delight to watch.
I wish I could see one here. They are around but I have never been lucky enough to spot one. Diane
