I have never seen a butterfly this color, it is almost neon...wonderful capture!! Thanks so much for all your lovely comments on my blog, so appreciated.
This is a Big WOW! It's a great shot. You got it sharp at the moment and the cute lil butterfly's face is visible. Oh, I just find this picture so lovely.
What an absolutely delightful blog you have here and so aptly named! Your beautiful photos are indeed 'breathtaking' :-) You are so lucky to have so much lovely light and sunshine there!
I was fascinated to see how many species we have in common with you. We even get occasional visits from the Hoopoe which I saw on your earlier post. Unfortunately I live too far inland to see them when they sometimes drop in during their Spring migration.
I shall put myself on your followers and come back as often as I can. Thank you so much for visiting my blog :-)
The sounding cataract Haunted me like a passion:the tall rock, The mountain, and the deep and gloomy wood, Their colours and their forms, were then to me An appetite; a feeling and a love, That had no need of a remoter charm, By thought supplied, nor any interest Unborrowed from the eye.x
Eva You probably never noticed them because in the first place, the Hairstreaks are not only very small, but because of their colour, they are very well camouflaged, but as you say lovely little butterflies.:)XX
Deanna First of all,I thank you, for all the beautiful photos you share,it's a pleasure to visit you, and when I make a comment it's so well deserved,-your photography is fantastic.:)
The Hairstreak's wings do have a silky appearance, and in bright sun light they can appear to shine.
Nancy Thankyou,I must admit to holding my breath when I saw, and until I had taken this photo. As it's such an active little butterfly I thought that at any moment it might fly away. So glad you like it.
Nava Yes it's a pretty butterfly, and when it flew to rest on the blue flower I held my breath whilst I took the photo, for moments like these don't happen to me very often.Glad you passed by.:)
ShySongbird Lovely to hear from you,and thankyou for following my blog. The way my blog was named came about one day, when my daughter and I were thinking of a suitable name to call it,without much success, when my daughter suggested I named it Breathtaking because she knew I always hold my breath when taking a photo!! Thankyou for such lovely comments.:)
Giga The Green Hairstreak is seen in all of Europe, but is so well camauflaged because of it's colour which blends in so well with grass and foliage, that it is difficult to spot unless it alights on a different colour.Luckily for me it did!! So glad you like it.:)

So sorry, I didn't say how much I liked this particular photo! Such a pretty butterfly which we have here too but which I have never actually seen.
