THE GREAT SPOTTED WOODPECKER II AND AN UPDATE:

Hi everyone, Yesterday I had an appointment with the Physiatrist who saw me after I broke my right wrist on the 1st of June, and after my first 15 sessions of physiotherapy, and he seemed pleased with my progress, although I still have some way to go before I can use my wrist and my arm without pain. Like last time I have tendinitis in my shoulder and arm, and haven't yet gained the strength to open jars and bottles with my wrist. I'm now on the second series of physio and still have 10 days to go, and then I will see if more is needed. In the meantime I thought I would make a post, tell you my news, and share a few photos of the Great Spotted Woodpecker, but I won't be able to visit anyone just yet as I need more time to get better.

These images were taken on different days in different light. I hope you have enjoyed this post which was done in stages, but I did  use my right hand to make it and I'm pleased I got in touch as it has been a while since my last post, and I really miss you all. My best wishes to everyone.Until next time hugs all round.

Hello dear Sonjia,

It's been a long time since you posted anything on your blog, and I'm very happy to hear from you. It is good that there is progress with your hand.
Such beautiful pictures you show! The woodpecker is a beautiful bird.

Many hugs from Marit

Glad you are making progress. Healing takes time and patience. Physio helps me with injuries for sure.

That woodpecker is a beauty. Great shots!

First of all, a lot of strength with your wrist and shoulder.
Take care with your shoulder I've been walking with a frozen shoulder for two years and seven months, that's really a terrible pain that you wouldn't wish on anyone.
I've had the worst now that I can lie on that shoulder, that terrible pain in which no painkiller worked lasted a year, I'm now in the last phase, this condition says three years.
The photos of the woodpecker are really great.
I wish you strength and recovery.
Greetings Irma

Dear Sonjia, it is wonderful to hear from you, but I'm sorry to learn that you have ongoing problems with your wrist and shoulder. It all sounds very painful and I hope that the physiotherapy will start producing good results soon. In the meantime, I hope that your are able to cherish continuing visits by the woodpecker and, maybe, give us some more delightful photos and a positive update on your wellbeing.

My very best wishes - take good care - - - Richard

Good morning, Sonjia: How exciting to see you back at your blog, with a magnificent series on Great Spotted Woodpecker. It’s hard to recover from broken limbs, especially when one has already said farewell to the supple days of youth, but you are making progress and you can probably hear the cries of support from all around the world of friends rooting for you. Keep on persevering! If magic spells and incantations worked I would invoke them all, if dances to the gods were effective I would be whirling around the room right now, if lighting candles were effective I would be in danger of setting the house on fire. But time, patience and determination are the only solutions and I know that soon you will succeed. Zillions of hugs and kisses - David

Hi, I am happy to see you can still use your camera. Beautiful woodpeckers in any light. Hugs and prayers and well wishes for your wrist to get back to normal. Good luck with your next series of therapy. I liked the comment about when the years of suppleness are past us. I turned 79 yesteday and the supple made me giggle. my body says what is supple?

Great clear captures! Dealing with a broken wrist is difficult. I still am experiencing issues from a break that happened months ago. Wishing you a full recovery sooner rather than later. :)

Dear Sonjia,
I hope you have read my comments I posted yesterday. So good to have you back blogging. As usual, your photographs are of a very high standard.I wondered if this Great Spotted Woodpecker was a youngster. I have seen very few birds in my garden and wonder if there is some local bird flu.

Such beautiful pictures -- I can't do as well even with both hands. I'm so very glad that you are recovering well from your fall. And I am so glad to see you back in "blog-land"..... I am in good health at the moment, but have definitely slowed down with age; I can't sit at the computer as long as I used to be able to. So I am much slower in visiting my favorite blog friends. I will try to do better.
