2022 Images of birds and other creatures.

My first post of the year, had to include a few Robin images which I photographed a couple of weeks ago in the Fire Thorn hedge, and a few other birds and creatures I photographed last year. Christmas was a rather sad time, but we tried to make the best of it by thinking that Americo was with us in spirit. From the first of January I spent the new year preparing for a follow up exam I had to do on the forth of January, in the I.P.O, the Portuguese Institute of Oncology  which is where I had surgery in the summer of 2020, and I've had follow up treatment every four months.  The result was good news, and it's the best feeling to know that the tumour has not returned, and all is well.

Nature has helped me through difficult times, It's uplifting and healing, and getting back to blogging has also helped me to get through a very difficult year, and it's been a comfort to know I have friends in Blog land, who are fellow nature lovers. A big thank you to all of you who take the time to visit my blog and may 2022 bring us more peace of mind.

,

Thank you

Dear Sonjia. I am delighted to hear that your recent test was good news, and hope that the bad times are now all behind you, and stay in the past.

This is a wonderful collection of images that you are showing us. I do have some favourites, however, and those are the ones of both the lizards, the Crested Tit, the Red Squirrel, and the sunset. My favourite of all though is that of the Robin with the berry! Robins don't tend to touch the berries in our garden.

Have a wonderful 2022 - I'm looking forward to what you will find to show us. Stay safe - - - Richard

Your pictures are lovely, and crisp, and clear, Sonjia, and bring me great delight. These creatures are very fortunate to live with you and know that you appreciate them. Nature is the soothing balm for all that ails us; it may not always be a cure, but it is certainly therapeutic. I will look forward to sharing some of the world's wonderful creatures with you, from your side of the Atlantic and from mine. Perhaps 2002 will be the year we kick COVID out the door. Even a pandemic can't last forever. Hugs from Ontario. David

Great photos! I live along a migratory path for thousands of birds here on the shores of Lake Michigan USA. Bird watching becomes part of my everyday life! Nice posting.

A very nice set of pictures of birds I used to see (except the Crested Tit!) when I live in the UK.

What crazy times we live in.

Hope all is well.

From East Sussex Sonjia, I send you my best wishes for 2022. I hope you will have no more health problems . Your photographs are superb. So sharply focussed. What a skilful photographer you have become. I still hope that one day I will be able to visit you and see for myself your lovely home, gardens and wilder areas. Stay safe. Omicron is going to be with us for some time, I'm afraid but it cannot last forever and I think we will eventually accept this virus like we have to accept and treat influenza!

Good morning Sonjia. And wishing you all the best for 2022, I'm sure that with the help of nature, your photography and the blogging network, your days will be good. I'm struck by that beautiful lizard - such marvellous colours you captured by your perfect focus technique. I wish we had more lizards in the UK. those few we have are very rarely seen.

It always amazes me to see the brilliant colors that we see in nature. Makes me so happy that I can get out there and enjoy it! AND...look at your beautiful photos! Love those big red berries...YUM!

Your photos are absolutely stunning. I love the fact that European robins are so much different in appearance than our American ones. I think they might be prettier than ours. The clarity of your photos is striking.

I'm glad you have had no recurrence of your tumor and I'm glad the follow ups are regular so you're right on top of it. I send thoughts for continued healing and no more tumor!

And finally, thank you so much for stopping by my post on Marmelade Gypsy. It's lovely to return the visit and see your lovely work.

I am so pleased to learn everything turns better for you again. And that you find comfort in nature.

You have found and photographed several of my favorite birds. Like the coal tit and robin. Many birds have dissappeared from my area but the coal tit is still around. I love it!

Take care and keep blogging and photographing.

Hi Sonjia,
I am very pleased to hear your news. Keep up the good work!! I am sure that being out of doors and particularly among nature is very good for your health. Actually, I think there is a lot of research about that.
Great pictures of a lovely variety of wildlife. We are delighted to have seen Red Squirrels here recently, which haven't been recorded here previously. We also saw a Pine Marten on our camera trap. That is really special, although my wife isn't so pleased as it is a potential threat to her chickens!!
