The Jays give me enormous pleasure. It's a large bird, that at times can be noisy, but it is undeniably beautiful, and I photograph it often, well hidden of course, because if it detects the slightest movement it flies away immediately. Here are a few images I took last year.

Hello Sonjia,
The Jays are very beautiful birds. They are in my garden too, and I love to watch them. They are very shy, and they fly away at the slightest sound.
Hugs, Marit
Awesome photos. Jay is so beautiful and wise bird.
There's no such thing as 'just Jays' Sonjia. Every one is a fabulous bird, and all your photos do full justice to these very desrving subjects. I'll happily take more photos of Jays from you whenever you offer them - even if they will turn me a strange shade of green with envy!
Hoping that all is progressing nicely with you. Stay safe - - - Richard
your jays are so beautiful, but so different that mine!! the patch of blue is so pretty with the black stripes, their heads appear to be rose colored. your images are gorgeous highlighting all of those pretty markings!!
Hello Sonjia, Lovely pictures of a bird that I have not seen for more than a year. All down to the pollution of our local rivers or so I am led to believe. Take care.
Mike.
You know, Sonjia, I never consider the sounds of nature annoying or intrusive no matter how loud or raucous they may be. These jays, (wonderful, gorgeous birds by the way) are communicating with each other, or sounding warnings and it is not for us to judge whether we like their calls or not, so your attitude to them is spot on. Think of the noise of screeching brakes, or a loud-mouthed drunk, and the cries of the jay will sound musical indeed. Any time you want to show me pictures of jays feel free to do so and I will be a happy man. I will even play their song/call while I look at the pictures so I get the full atmosphere of the moment. Take good cate. All the best. David
What a wonderful series of photos of this Jay.
The colors are great as is the sharpness.
Greetings Irma
Hello Sonjia!
Your Jay photos are all beautiful, what a lovely bird. Take care, have a happy weekend!
Jays are beautiful. I do see birds visiting my garden but I don't see Jays among them. The birds are always too fast for me to take snapshots of them. Have a wonderful weekend.
Hello again Sonjia!
I just love this post and your photos of the Eurasian Jay. It is a beauty, great poses. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend!
...just jays are just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
They are so pretty, even a little mischievous, like parrots. They usually come her too, during winter, but I haven't seen them yet. Beautiful photos!
They are beautiful with those blue feathers on their sides! Great photos!
Just Jays is not quite true. your jays are so much prettier than our jays, although ours have more blue. they are gorgeous birds. Our Jays are LOUD, the screech and attack other birds and do make a racket. we like them anyway. so happy to see you in blog land
happy New Year! Wonderful photos of this jay--it looks so inquisitive.
You captured the beauty of the Jay. Well done and beautiful photos.
Besos.
What a lovely bird, I like the beautiful markings on his head.
We've seen various species of jay at home (ours are bluejays) and on trips to the American West, central America, and elsewhere. One thing is consistent in our experience: they fly away just when you try to capture them on film. So I appreciate your collection of jay portraits.

We have blue jays here which are beautiful birds, also very shy and noisy. They can be very nasty to other birds and they tend to rob nests and bird houses.. Wonderful pictures. Good shots. Enjoy your day
Sadly, I don't think I have seen a Jay in my garden for over a year despite living on the edge of a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a lot of water nearby. Your photographs bring out the colours of their feathers very well and I often wonder why their markings are so unusual but consistent.
Bello pajarito me recuerda a los que pasa por mi jardín te mando un beso. Enamorada de las letras
Our Jays are very blue and so loud chattering, but your Jay is exquisite with hardly any blue at all. I've enjoyed your lovely photos very much. I hope you are doing well, and wish you a new year that gives you happiness.
These are such beautiful photos. The only ones I see where I live are blue -- beautiful in their way, too. But these have a kind expression in their eyes and such beautifujl markings on the back. Your photos are wonderfully clear and detailed. Beautiful.
Thanks for visiting me over at Marmelade Gypsy! A pleasure to see you there.
Our blue jays in America are reviled, but very beautiful indeed. Overlooked really.
We have different kinds of Jays here but they behave the same way you describe yours -- and they are also beautiful, so I do not mind their loud calls! Thank you for sharing yours.
nice shots of one of my favorite birds. We have them but I rarely see them. And as you mention, they disappear as soon as they spot you. You were lucky this time.
Lovely capture on the Jays, and you took from different angles.
We do occasionally see Jays.
These are lovely photographs.
All the best Jan
