Algarve and Horse riding for Good Fences

On our evening walks we encountered riders on horseback. We saw them so often that we exchanged a few words each time our paths crossed, and on two occasions they stopped for me to take their photos. I'm sure you'll agree that they, and their mounts look lovely, and I'm sharing these shots for Good Fences, and then I will be taking a break for a while, to do some much needed gardening, before the weather changes. Have fun,... and take care.:)

Hi, I just found your blog by accident (whilst looking at Hilda's portrait).

I think 'breathtaking' is highly appropriate! Your photographs are magnificent, however, I'm the World's worst photographer, nevertheless wow!

Hello! I had to go back and look at the fences as the horses are so noble and handsome they took all my attention at first and brought back happy memories of our horse riding adventures on holiday!
Lovely photos!

I also meant to comment on how creative your capture on the fences is, I was so busy looking at the horses and their riders, I forgot to see them!

Both the horses and riders are beautiful and they diverted our attention from the fences.

Thanks for your return visit and comments.

I've become a follower ... hope you don't mind.

No (chuckle) I'm not a pastel portrait painter, I paint mainly in acrylics and am now rummaging around in oils. However, I became a 'professional' artist in 1983 in Pen & Ink and spent most of my art-life there.

It's unusual to meet someone who has been married as long as I have (High 5) :)

I look forward to your future posts.

How fun to meet the horses & riders and be able to take their photos. The fences were nice in the shots but I enjoyed the story behind your meetings with the riders too.

The first one looks like the horse the Cisco Kid rode. Very handsome.

I did not have your email address, so I will respond here. I did add your location to my list of blog friends and I greatly enjoy your blog and photography! The coffee shop also had many varieties of tea, which were interesting to browse through. My husband has hot tea each afternoon.
Thank you for your blog friendship.

I love horses. We have two, Quick and the Boneco. The last horse of your photos is like the Boneco. The horses are very intelligent animals. I love them. Beijinhos

Lovely horses and their riders but no hard hats! Why?It's compulsory here. Apart from sweeping up leaves, I have put my garden to bed for at least 4 months so I hope you do not have too much to do.

Len, These riders own farms, and live nearby, and know these back roads like the palm of their hands, also there are very few cars on these dirt roads in fact, we did not see one car, on the many occasions we walked there. I'm not sure but I think only children under the age of 14 are required to use helmets, and it's left to the horse owners discretion to wear a hard hat or not.
