We were having lunch with the family one Saturday, when my granddaughter Sara, told us about a zoo she had visited, and said that we should go there, as it was a great place to spend the day, and would only take an hour to get there. On her recommendation we decided to act on her suggestion, and I must say that we were impressed at the way the animals were cared for, and I will be sharing some photos of our visit over the next few weeks.

It took us I hour and 30 minutes on the highway to reach the Zoo, and this is the entrance.

I sat on the bench, whilst Americo went inside....

this building, where he bought our entrance tickets, and on the right is where we started our walk around the zoo.

One of the hides where we were able to see the deer-like creatures below.

On a return visit, I'll be more careful to get their names, as I stupidly forgot to take pictures of them.

This creature and the next where taken in different areas of the zoo.

The environment looked very natural,

Another view of a hide to get a better look at the fence.

This is where we had a delicious cooked meal. We had intended to spend the day, but it was so hot, that we left after eating lunch, but we both agreed to make a return visit at a later date, and I shall look forward to it, besides,.. I want to get those names.

Fantastic!!
After all these years of living, visiting zoos is still a great pastime!! Enjoyed your photos. Thanks for the trip around the zoo grounds.
Hello, love the images from your zoo visit. It is a pretty zoo and entrance. The critters are all beautiful, I love the Black Swan! Happy Thursday, enjoy your day and the weekend ahead!
The setting of this zoo is very pretty! The donkey is sweet - looks as though it wants to play with you.
it is a pretty place. sweet donkey. the ibex (i think?) is beautiful, too. thank you, sonjia, for your friendship. be well and happy.
I'm glad your granddaughter suggested you visited this zoo as it looks brilliant! Your photos of the deer is fantastic but it is the lonely donkey which stole my heart!
Hope you return soon!
Lovely place and fantastic animals love the donkey's sweet pose and wonderful variety of fences ~ thanks.
Happy Thanksgiving to you.
I am not a fan of zoos, but this looks like a beautiful, safe and natural setting for the lovely animals. More like a big nature park. Your photos are gorgeous, and the donkey is adorable. So happy to see healthy looking and happy animals. :)
Hi. Stunning photographs. Zoos are great places. They have a nice visit. Greetings.
Un reportaje muy bonito. Besos.

cool, a greylag goose in a zoo, never thought that could happen. We have millions of them up here most of the year. :)

Well, the granddaughter was persuaded to visit the zoo. Nicely there and to green. Certainly it was a nice day for everyone. Regards.
Hi. Zoos are places that are important to me. People see unfamiliar animals. Greetings.
i always struggle with zoos. should i visit a place where animals are caged?? what i find when i go is that they are beautiful, well maintained, the animals are well fed and seem happy. that seems like the case here. zoos too are such a great place to see animals that we may otherwise not have the opportunity to see or photograph!!
all of your captures are really beautiful, i especially enjoyed seeing the black swans - a rarity for me!!!
Lovely anumals, glad to see they have natural habitats.
~
Our grandchildren also know pretty much what they like hahahah ..
And you granddaughter was right :-) This zoo has really nice animals and you could now beautiful photograph. You Saturday was a very nice day together :-)
A hug
The zoo appears to be well maintained with lots of space for the inmates but I am against caging animals. However many people cannot see animals in their natural environment so this Zoo seems to have found a happy medium. Beautiful photos.
Our grandchildren alway enjoy visits to the Zoo.
Some very nice photographs - thank you.
All the best Jan
I sure do love that black swan! Enjoy your weekend! Hugs!
So beautiful and serene pictures of zoo..

Beautiful zoo. It looks so peaceful that day....love them all but I really love the black swan...I don't see them often.
It's nice to see the animals with space around them!
The Deer is somewhere else, beautiful images.
I would love to visit a zoo just to see the beautiful animals there. I like the first animal in your post.It has beautiful horns. The other animals are beautiful too. The donkey is cute and looks friendly.
I think somebody has stolen some of our swans!!
I wonder what the first Europeans in Australia thought of black swans?
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Wonderful zoo -- the black swans are my favorite -- all your photos are so good. Isn't it absolutely the best thing in the world to learn new things from your grandchild! That happens to us often too.
Looks like the animals are well care of. I do love looking at the pics
Bom dia, vim procurar uma nove publicação, não encontrei, mas desejo-lhe continuação de boa semana,
AG
Dearest Sonija; The Santo Inacio Zoo your granddaughter suggested to visit is really wonderful♪ Two deers are so different, I was surprised with the horns which is long as well as twisted :-)
We used to have black swans in our city park's lake; I miss them a lot. (swans were killed because of bird flu)
Oh, Greylag Goose is adorable; we can see ducks a lot but not geese(^^;)
Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend in Portugal, xoxo Miyako*
