A Woody for Wild Bird Wednesday

he is gorgeous!!! what a beautiful bird... we have been hearing a loud shriek during the day and thought it might be a hawk... we finally saw the bird and it is a tiny wood pecker of some kind, with a big voice.

He's CUTE! I've heard a woodpecker a couple of times here in our desert, but haven't seen him.

A Spotted Woodpecker ... that's a first for me. I have never seen nor even heard of them before. Very nice pictures and I am wondering now where your bird feeder is that has such an awesome bird coming to it :)
