Tree Creeper Sylria atricapilla

A few Treecreepers to share today, taken at different times, and in different light. Always a pleasure to see them at the feeders. These birds prefer coniferous woods at higher altitudes, where they breed fairly commonly in S. Europe. I always find the Treecreeper a difficult bird to photograph, because of the spiraling way it creeps up a tree. One minute it's on one side of the trunk, and just when your ready to shoot, it's moved around to the other side. Just as well they visit the feeders!:)

The Creeper is a cool bird. Sometimes hard to spot, you did great.. Awesome shots.

At first I thought that was just a leaf on the trunk. Turns out to be a bird. One I've never seen. I like the long beak. Great shots of this bird.

You must be very quick with your camera. Tree creepers don't usually stay in one place for very long.

Great shots of a species that is not always easy to photograph.
You are so right. Treecreepers are incredibly difficult to photograph. They do spiral around the tree and also stick close to the trunk. Plus their movements from tree to tree are very unpredictable making it difficult to know where to point the camera. And they are often in the shade and darkness of trees. Altogether a difficult proposition, so well done with those pictures.
Such a pretty bird and I was thinking the same thing you said at the end... I have taken quite few pictures of a trunk where a creeper used to be. Super post!
