Creepers

Tree Creeper    Sylria atricapilla

A few Treecreepers to share today, taken at different times, and in different light. Always a pleasure to see them at the feeders. These birds prefer coniferous woods at higher altitudes, where they breed fairly commonly in S. Europe. I always find the Treecreeper a difficult bird to photograph, because of the spiraling way it creeps up a tree. One minute it's on one side of the trunk, and just when your ready to shoot, it's moved around to the other side. Just as well they visit the feeders!:)

An excellent series of shots of a species that eludes my lens more often than not.

At first I thought that was just a leaf on the trunk. Turns out to be a bird. One I've never seen. I like the long beak. Great shots of this bird.

Pretty little bird. Some birds do create more of a challenge to photograph. Nice shots.

Dearest Sonija; Oh the Creepermust hard to capture as it name suggests :-) Your photographs are marvelous; I'm impressed by the long beak♬♬♬ My attempted putting feeder in my little garden didn't work, haha.

PS> I got your comment on my 16th post. I still wonder what's going on with my commenting(^^;) I haven't had the 'unsaved changes', Just crossing my fingers stay working like today.

You must be very quick with your camera. Tree creepers don't usually stay in one place for very long.

Love that little creeper.

Great shots of a species that is not always easy to photograph.

You are so right. Treecreepers are incredibly difficult to photograph. They do spiral around the tree and also stick close to the trunk. Plus their movements from tree to tree are very unpredictable making it difficult to know where to point the camera. And they are often in the shade and darkness of trees. Altogether a difficult proposition, so well done with those pictures.

Such a pretty bird and I was thinking the same thing you said at the end... I have taken quite few pictures of a trunk where a creeper used to be. Super post!

Wow...I am very impressed with your photo shares. Excellent.

I've only seen ONE creeper and then I had no camera. But, I keep looking. I'm a bit jealous here. LOL

Thanks for sharing your link this weekend at I'd Rather B Birdin'

I've never seen one...but that isn't so surprising after seeing how well yours was camouflaged in the first photo. Good spotting!
