| This is the first time I have ever seen a Woodpecker feeding with any bird.The conspicuous red rump always gets my attention, and I grap my camera and take the photos through the patio window, but the quality is poor. |

| The peanuts lure the Woodpeckers to my garden, but the swinging motion on the feeder, is a bit of a problem!! |

Great shots, Breathtaking, despite of the motion of the feeder. This woodpecker is so close, I have never seen that myself. It is nice when you have the opportunity to make stunning and artistic pictures, but the real joy is to enjoy the moment. Have a nice day. Greetings, Joke

More often than not theWoodpeckers are gone in a flash of red, black, and white, so the waiting for just the right moment, was a thrill in itself.

You are being hard on yourself Sonjia, I don't think the quality of these photos is poor at all, I would be thrilled to have taken them :-) Such a lovely bird, I love the photo showing the contrast in size between it and the Coal? Tit. I have had a GSW visit my garden a couple of times but only ever managed a very poor record photo.
I also liked the photo of the pigeons on the previous post with their beautifully coloured plumage, we have quite an army of Feral Pigeons regularly visiting the garden and although they are terribly greedy they do clear up all the bits that drop from the feeders :-)

Yes it is a Coal Tit on the feeder the most common bird in my garden. I am so pleased you liked my previous post, but now it's time to
