Two of a Kind 1

The Wood Pigeon   Columba palumbus.

Looking out of my bedroom window on an extreemly dull morning one day last week, I saw these two birds silhouetted against the sky. I got closer shots of a Collared Dove the next day on the farm. It was still dull and cloudy, so even though it was nearer, they are not very good captures. The weather has been so uncertain, worst August I ever remember.

At last a photo of a Collerd Dove. I see them often in the trees, but never near enough to get a good shot. There's a pair of them, but they fly away at the first sign of my approach. Pity I couldn't have got a shot of them both, especially for this post.

Sensing I was near, he kept looking from side to side.

Feeling uneasy, he eventually flew away, which was one more  ghost shot to add to my odd collection of strange apparitions.:)

I like these pigeons. Interestingly you showed them the pictures. I greet you.

I'm amazed at how abundant both these birds have become in the UK in the last 20 years or so..........

What a great vantage-point for those doves! To see what they see! And I love the collared dove. He keeps looking over his collar at you while you get the shots. Very nice!

Oh how I love the song of a dove...

I'd love to see the Wood Pigeon. I recently rescued a Rock Dove, but I've heard those Wood Pigeons are bigger than most.

Hi Sonjia!

Definitely,we won`t miss this August when it`s gone...

As for the pigeons, it`s a pleasure to listen to their singing, although very seldom one manages to catch a glimpse of them...

Nice shots!

Good Evening from Japan, Sonija♪
Oh, Lovely, Cute Collared Doves♡♡♡ Quite different from ours I can never see here.
To tell the truth, from our bed room there was a beautiful bush I could enjoy green until about 25 years ago. It turned into housing development(^^;)
Yes, we also had a bad weather summer and lots of flooding occurred in Japan. I was so surprised to hear the news that my old good friend's area was hit by land slides. No damages for her house but...

I hope you are having a wonderful week.
Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

Das sind wirklich sehr schöne Aufnahmen von Tauben.
Ich mag sie wegen ihrer großen, treuen Augen.
Bei uns gibt es auch sehr viele davon
Grüße aus Deutschland
