Dear fellow blog friends, and loyal followers,
You will be surprised to see a post from me, but circumstances have changed since my last post and I want to explain the reason for my return. In January I had a consultation with a neurologist to see the result of a brain scan, (which is fine by the way) and my lack of balance was also discussed. The neurologist perscribed a medication which she felt would help with my equalibrium. but my behavior had to be monitored, because in the elderly there was a possability of developing depression. Eva phoned me every day to find out how I was, and I told her that I felt extreme tirdness and that my vision had worsened so much that I had stopped blogging. Eva knew how much it meant to me, and could hardly believe what I had done. All this time,it never occured to me that my mood had altered because of the new medication, I just thought that endless rainfall and dark grey days were the reasons for my down hill behaviour. I just wanted to sleep and the thought lingered that I may be going blind. Fortunately Eva came one day and took out the paper inside the box of medication and read out the side effects. there was a long list but what was instantly apparent was I had been spiraling into depession, Depression was one of the side effects, but vision alterations and exesive fatigue were two more, and inpulsive actions another. I imediately stopped taking the medication, and gradually began to recover. My eyesight is no longer blurred and I feel that a great weight has been lifted from my mind. I am so releived and happy to be returning to blogland. Thank you again for your support and friendship- I shall treasure all your kindness for ever. Hugs to everyone. Until next time,

What wonderful news, Sonjia. I can’t imagine a brighter start to my day. Onwards and upwards from here! We should all have a daughter like Éva to keep check on us? Hugs and kisses - David
Dear Sonjia :)
I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw that you had written a new post today! Side effects of medication can be serious, but it is good that you have stopped taking the medication and that you are feeling better. Then your shape will probably improve. I am so happy now!
Good recovery with your eyesight. Depression caused by medication is terrible. Spring will soon be here, and that will cheer you up. It is snowing here today, but I think the freezing weather will soon be gone.
Many warm hugs to you my friend!
Marit
Wow, I am so glad Eva discovered how bad the side effects were from the medication. I am happy you are back, doing something that makes you happy. HUGS, take care, have a great day!
Dear Sonjia,
What wonderful news this is.
Medication can cause you to become increasingly depressed.
It's great that you stopped taking it.
I'm so happy for you that you're doing much better now.
All the best, Irma
I am so happy to see you pop up here and very happy your sight is back and that you have come back to your old life by stopping the meds. I have been doing better since I st arted meds but had to stop posting again because Beau has been sick for 2 days and Bob fell this morning, no injuries but scary and we had a really hard time getting him up. The PT that came to day showed us a little better way to do it if he falls again. welcome back, I might be missing a while longer or might not..depends on my 2 patients. I am fine
Glad you have a daughter like Eva ! Side effects of medication could be serious, but this was sure good news ! Welcome back and hugs, Lasse
Such wonderful news, Sonjia! Welcome back, my friend. It is so good to read you again!
That's wonderful news! It's great that you can take photos and blog again.
I'm so glad you're back!
So glad to hear from you!! Also glad you have Eva to help you. Looking forward to more blog posts!
What a relief, I'll bet. Welcome back!
So glad to see you back, Sonjia!
What a relief that the cause was discovered and that you’re feeling lighter and clearer again. Eva’s care and attentiveness are a true blessing. Wishing you many brighter days ahead and joy in blogging once more. It’s wonderful to have you back in blogland--your posts always feel like a visit from a dear friend. 💐
This is absolutely WONDERFUL! I am so happy for you :-))
Good to hear Welcome back
Surprised and thrilled to see a past from you. I think Eva deserves the thanks of every blogger who follows along with you. The anxiety that came with that had to be just horrible, affecting all you did in life. I'm just so happy that your vision has returned. I think many of us fear losing our vision more than almost any other malady. So good news all around.
And I was equally happy to see your wonderful comment at my space. I don't have direct email contact for you, so I can't reply individually but it meant a great deal.
It is only my first time here - but nonetheless I am so very glad you are back and well enough to continue blogging! Very Good News!
Good hear you are on the mend and back blogging ~ It is so good to 'see you.' ~ lots of healing energy and hugs,

Sonjia I am so glad I scrolled back to read your "homecoming" post! I am so glad to know that you found the reason for your symptoms~ And so very glad you are back to yourself and back to blogging. Also, as a fellow senior citizen I thank you for the timely reminder of how important it is to check that piece of paper upon getting a new prescription . Modern medicine is wonderful but we have to also take care of ourselves -- each of us is different and reacts differently to medications. (But I am one who tends to forget that, so again, thank you for the reminder.) Sallie
Dear Sonjia,
I'm so glad that Eva helped you find the solution to your problems. Welcome back, dear friend. May you have many healthy and happy days ahead.
What a blessing to have a friend like Eva who knew exactly what to look for. It’s frightening how much a simple medication can alter our world, but it’s wonderful to hear that your vision has cleared and your spirit has lifted.
Take it slow as you settle back into blogland, we are just happy to have you back!
Oh my! I’m glad you were able to find out and get better. It’s horrifying what medication can do. I realize there are warnings published, but even so, if this were not a prescription, you could get compensated for your suffering.
Wonderful news Sonjia. Glad that you are feeling better and on the mend.
Querida Sonjia que maravillosa noticia, me hace muy feliz saber que estas mucho mejor y de nuevo con nosotros. Me siento feliz.
Un enorme abrazo
Wonderful news, Sonjia.
Medication can have adverse affects, so very pleased Eva was able to help you.
My very good wishes ... take care.
All the best Jan
Me alegra muchísimo saber que te encuentras bien, espero que pronto nos dejes fotografías de pajaritos en tu blog o de todo lo que te guste. Te dejo un abrazo fuerte y dale otro de mí parte para tu hija Eva.
It is wonderful to see you back dear Sonjia. I am glad that Eva did some investigating on your medication. It is a happy day to know you are feeling much better and that you are blogging again.
Eva sounds like a super star. So glad you can see again and that it was the medication. This is wonderful. Welcome back to blogging. Hi, I'm Ivy. Cheers.
You're back!!! I am so pleased Sonjia. And I am even more pleased to hear that your fatigue and eye-sight issues were down to the medication. Well done Eva for sorting you out!!
I have been very busy with other things so haven't been blogging or even visiting my blog for a few weeks now. What a lovely surprise to see you blogging again.
When we inherited my father's house ten years ago we also inherited all of the photographic slides that my father had taken on his travels since 1961. There are also a number of note books detailing conferences and visits to the many countries he had visited. It was all a bit overwhelming, but I would love to know all of the places he visited. So, after ten years, I have decided to scan in his slides. I am afraid I will then throw out the originals, just to save space. I am guessing there are more than 15,000 slides, but one day I will know for sure. Some are arranged neatly in boxes, but unfortunately he used many of them for talks and lectures, so many are mixed in with others. So, I am scanning them, noting what the label was on the box, any description written on the slide and any codes printed onto the slides. Gradually I am managing to sort through them. After four weeks I am about a tenth of the way through them!! I am really enjoying it, though!!
