THE CRESTED TIT

The house is quieter now and I can only hear wood creaking or the wind blowing outside. Pedro left on the fifteenth of September, and is dearly missed. He would knock on my bedroom door each morning and when I said enter, he met me with a cheery smile and a "Good Morning Grandma" " Did you sleep well" or "What shall we do today, I have a meeting at 11, but I'm free in the afternoon."Lovely memories of my good - natured Grandson. Yes I'm the doting Grandma, who's affection knows no bounds when it comes to my grandson and even more so when I know the affection is mutual. The next time we will see each other is at Christmas, but it will soon be here. During my daughter in-law Paula's holidays,(she is a school teacher of English and French,) I saw more of Paula and my son Marco Paulo, and we had many happy reunions, and  I see my daughter Eva three times a week, and Marco and Paula once a week so I'm not short of company. Also just recently I have met up with old friends and we have had lunch together in various restaurants and spent pleasant afternoons together. It is cooler now in the mornings and evenings  but the afternoons are still hot but bearable. The new gardener has planted plugs of graminha grass to replace the scorched grass  spoilt by the summer heat. I collected the grass from other areas of the garden, and fingers crossed that they take root and do well. My time spent gardening is limited and I suffer the consequences afterwards, but what little is achieved makes me feel good. Now you are up to date with how I have spent my time, and know the reason why I am sometimes late in commenting on your blogs and even photography has taken a back seat when I have felt over tired and I can't sit at the computer because of the pain in my knee. The following image is an old photo that I don't remember sharing before, but please forgive me if I have. I hope you enjoy.

I love all the birds of the tit family but the Crested tit, I think you'll agree is simply charming.

A short post for a change.

I will be linking up with Stewart at Wild Bird Wednesday and Eileen at Saturday's Critters both amazing blogs with loads of wildlife to enjoy.

Dear Sonjia,
Beautiful photo of the crested tit.
I can imagine that when you're very tired, you don't sit down at the computer to update your photos and blog.
How nice that your daughter and grandchildren visit you so often. I can't say. We only have one child, a son, but we haven't been in touch for seven years. That's not his fault, but his wife's. You have to let it go, otherwise it will destroy you.
I wish you a beautiful Tuesday.
Greetings Irma

Dear Sonjia :)
The photo of the Crested Tit is very beautiful. I seldom see it here, so it's lovely to see your photo. A short post is better than no post at all!
Take care my dear friend. Many warm hugs!

I'm so glad you have had a wonderful time with Pedro. He sounds like a terrific young man. And December isn't all that far away. I love your gorgeous Crested Tit. I've never seen one here so thank you!

precious little tit.. cute, really cute. You are sooooo blessed to see all your family and friends. I get so lonely, there is nothing I would like better than company. Bob is no company now. I get to see my son and his wife once a month or so. I now wish we had not moved here 38 years ago and had remained in the same city with them. hindsight is 2020.. but I can feel your joy and happiness and enjoy it with you...

Hello Sonjia,
Lovely to read this post, you've clearly had a wonderful time with Pedro and December will be here before you know it!
You are fortunate to have good family and friends (as I have).
That is a very nice photograph of the Crested Tit.
Enjoy the rest of your week and also have a good month of October.

All the best Jan

Hello Sonjia, Wonderful report from your life and I am truly glad your family visit you so often. We have grandchildren nearby so we see them too quite often and that is wonderful. I agree with you, the crested tit is special and I call it the "punker" because of his attitude and look. All the best, Lasse

Hello, Sonjia: Your life is filled with pleasure and it makes me very happy that you are surrounded by a caring and loving family. I am in England right now with very little time to spare so this comment will, of necessity, be brief. Back to normal next week. Hugs and kisses - David

That is a lovely picture of a Crested Tit. I don't think I have seen one myself.
It is lovely to hear that your family value your company so much and regularly visit. That is a credit to you.
I think gardening is very therapeutic. I spend my lunch hour and any daylight after work doing work in the woods. Even a few small jobs add up by the end of the week and are very rewarding.

Dear Sonjia. you sure made my heart skip a beat! I thought Pedro left in some other way - glad he´ll come back! Cute bird having a big bite.
You got me thinking. We have no kids, Ingo is sick and 8 years older than me. Reckon I´ll have to rely on friends later.
But then... you are really lucky!!!
My neighbor W, he has two kids. They live very nearby, his wife´d passed away 3 years ago. They never visit, it´s a huge shame! He talks to... me, to us. When I have time I invite him, and I´m but a neighbor.
Once I "saw" his son. Came racing in his Golf GTI and W made a jump into the car. Call me old-fashioned. I´d expected the son, my age, would stop, get out, introduce himself to me...
You are lucky and I am very happy I misinterpreted your introduction!!! Have a great Saturday! Hugs

...Sonjia, it was nice to read about your grandson, we have two. The oldest is an Army medic who is stationed in Syria and we might see him again in a year. Our youngest just started college in Colorado and he wants to be a doctor. My gardening in limited, but a long time employee of mine from the nursery comes after work to help me. Take care, be well and enjoy your family.

It may be an old photo, but I love it all the same. The crested tit is such a sweet bird. To be honest, I was never all that into birds until I met a sweet old lady through my carpet cleaning business. Life was busy for me then, but she helped me slow down a bit and appreciate the simple beauty of a Black-capped chickadee. Glad to hear you are not short of company and I hope you and your grandson will have a joyous reunion come Christmas!

Now this is a bird I very much want to see - never managed to see it when I lived in the UK - and not present in Australia. Maybe one day!

Oh, I understand that issue very well. It's difficult to change a daily routine that you've grown fond of. And yes, it's equally important to pace yourself. Otherwise, we pay for it the next day or longer.
