Hello everyone, I'm back from my long break, and want to thank each and everyone of you for the lovely comments you left on my last post. Pedro is still here and I am enjoying the time we spend together and our birthdays with the rest of the family were celebrated with much gaiety and enthusiasm. We didn't do anything special on other occasions, only a few outings, but it never matters to either of us, as we always have so much to talk about that each day is new and interesting. In the mornings whilst Pedro works and it 's cooler outside, I do my chores and take photos around the garden, and here are a few I managed to capture.
I was sitting in the shade on a low stone wall which surrounds the garden catching my breath after a visit to the orchard to collect a few oranges, when I heard a rustling noise to my right and saw a large Occelated lizard just a few feet away. emerging from it's underground hibernating place. It saw me, and stopped moving, but I knew that if I kept perfectly still, it would eventually scurry away in reptile fashion, as hunger is a great incentive. Only the day before I had seen two large lizards hunting in the front garden.

Dear Sonjia :)
Welcome back! It's good that you had a nice summer with your family.
There are very nice photographs you show today. The Occelated lizard is very nice. Lovely flower pictures. My agapanthus are blooming now too. There is a beautiful blue color on them and your hydrangea.
All the best to you!
Warm greetings from your blog friend in the north.
Really gorgeous garden captures. Very soothing and cooling.
It's great that your days are filled with interesting conversations and that you're enjoying your garden.
Great captures, especially the lizard and frogs. The blossoms are lovely. Welcome back!
Welcome back after your blog break, and what a lovely post this is.
I enjoyed all of your photographs, such a good variety, and to finish with that glorious sunset ... wonderful.

Hi Sonjia, Welcome back and I enjoyed your garden photos. You have a wonderful garden. Glad you celebrated with your family, that is important to do. All the best, Lasse
Dear Sonjia,
What a wonderful series of flower photos.
I love squirrels.
Have a lovely Wednesday.
Greetings Irma
Great to see you back again, Sonjia, and to learn that you have had an enjoyable summer with your grandson, Pedro. And it’s not over yet. As usual, you have presented us with a fine array of pictures depicting nature in Portugal, beginning with that very handsome lizard. How I envy you the possibility of sitting quietly only to have him come for a visit. The frogs, the flowers are all gorgeous too, and I am glad to see that Wilma is being faithful. I will look forward to your next post with enthusiasm. Hugs and kisses - David
Schön die Bilder von den Blüten und den Tieren.

Good to have you back, and with so many wonderful photos. I hope that you had a great break.
janice.
How fun to have more time with Pedro. You and your gorgeous photos were missed but you brought us a grand "return gift" with this one. That lizards skin almost looks like tiny seed beads. And the frog! Marvelous. Beautiful blooms and birds as always!
That lizard is really amazing. Thanks for the great photos.
I am very happy to see you have returned to blogging Sonjia. Happy Birthday to you and Pedro, a little late of me I know but it sounds like you had a wonderful celebration. Your photos are smile bringers, from the handsome lizard onwards. Thank you so much for sharing them and a happy day to you :)

Hello, Sonjia,
Welcome back! I am sure you are thankful and enjoy your time with Pedro and the family. Happy Birthday to you and Pedro. I love the cute lizard and the frog. The Jay is a favorite too. Your flowers are gorgeous! The sunset is stunning, a beautiful colorful sky. Thanks so much for linking up and sharing your critter post! Take care, have a great weekend.
Dear Sonjia,
Welcome back, dear Sonjia, with garden in tow—
Where lizards now wiggle and spring flowers grow.
Pedro’s still present? Well isn’t that grand—
You two make each moment a fine wonderland!
You sit on a wall, with oranges near,
While rustling lizards inch ever so clear.
They pause, then they pounce, or they skitter away—
Reptilian drama to brighten your day!
The frog in the marsh gave a photogenic pose,
While Mountain Laurel dreams quietly rose.
And just when you thought it was quiet and still—
A jay drops by for a peanut refill!
There’s Wilma the woodpecker, tapping with flair,
And a wee red squirrel with wild woodland hair.
Your photos, your tales, your garden so fine—
Deserve their own postcard (or perhaps valentine!).
So here’s to your outings, your critters and blooms,
To laughter and sunsets and balcony rooms.
You make every morning a new jubilee—
With wildlife and wit served fresh with your tea!
John

I'm glad you've had a good summer and it's nice to see you today and catch up with what you've enjoyed along the way. Love the frog photos. They are hard for me to capture but I love seeing them. Hugs, Diane
It was so nice to see your post, Sonjia. Great pics and nice to hear that summer has been good.
Me ha encantado saber de ti, y saber que lo estás pasando muy bien. Has hecho un precioso reportaje. Gracias y besos.
What enjoyment it is going through all your beautiful photos of life where you're at in Portugal. I'm glad you and Pedro are still enjoying time together. If only I could visit and sit with you to enjoy that end to a lovely day, but alas, I shall have to do it from afar. So be it. It is never a disappointment visiting your beautiful writings and photographs. With love, Yvonne.
Lovely to have you back blogging and so nice to hear that Pedro is still there keeping you company and making himself very useful! Your garden sounds and looks so magical. To have plants growing that I would associate with cooler climates, but also to have oranges growing is fantastic. And to have so much wildlife enjoying your garden, too, is so lovely. If only everyone had such lovely gardens!
