Visit to the Pond

I knew from the cacophony of sound which pervaded the air that there would be some photo opportunities not to be missed, down at the pond. I hadn't been for a while as to get there, I have to walk down a steep incline, but walking slowly and carefully, I managed to arrive there, without incident, and I had arranged with Paula my daughter in law to bring me back home afterwards,in her car. My son and daughter in law moved in with me five weeks ago, as they are having some renovations done in their home, and it may take some time before they are finished. It's lovely to have their company, and they are in many ways so helpful and obliging.

Views of the pond are at the bottom. Frogs were difficult to detect because of the vegetation in the water, where they hide underneath at any movement they detect

One of the many dragonflies I saw that day.

Another lucky shot.

These two photos were taken in our pond in the garden on my return.

Some parts of the pond water was clear, more towards the middle of the pond.

I absolutely loved seeing these tiny frogs, on the leaves.

Three shots of the pond from different angles, lightened quite a bit

I want to take this opportunity to thank Phill Slade and David M. Gascoigne for correcting me on the bird's name in one of my previous posts. It was not a Goldcrest as I had mentioned, but a Firecrest. It has now been corrected. Many thanks Phill and David.

I can't tell you how happy I was to your blog pop up in my reading list. You are missed. I wish I could go to this pond with you. I love frogs from big to tiny and you have ceratinly not lost your skill with your camera. these are amazing. I am also glad to hear you have someone living with you for a while. Hope all the paperwork is completed. It will take a very long time to get through this loss or at least to get to the point your heart doesn't bleed.

A pond is a wonderful place to see a variety of 'critter's. I love the frog on the leaf. You got some great close ups. Enjoy your weekend!

it is just wonderful to see you here today, i could not be happier!! it is nice to have access to a pond and to see these cute little critters!! we live on a river but it sounds like perhaps we are in the same boat. in order for me to access my river it is a steep decline which i could probably get down but getting back up would be impossible!!

the tiny frogs are so adorable, i enjoyed seeing them on the leaves...it gives good perspective on just how tiny they are!! the dragonfly images are spectacular. i took pictures of a red one the other day and my research tells me red dragonflies are not in this area!!

i enjoyed seeing the "bigger picture"!!

How wonderful to see you are back blogging. I have missed your posts. Welcome back. I hope family and nature helps to ease the grief.

Loved to see frogs. Where I live I rarely see frogs. Either it is not frog country or I sleep to long in the mornings :)

What a lovely visit to your old favorite pond. It's nice to have your son and DIL there at this time -- a good thing for all of you as they need to be out of their home for a time. I have a walk I like very much but need to call someone to pick me up for a ride back as it is just a little too far to make it a round trip. Your pond is just beautiful and full of wonders. I especially love the reflection of the sky and the frog -- my goodness!
