More News, and a Tribute to Mel.

Returning to blogging has been difficult. After my health scare, I became very unsteady on my feet, and I had a series of falls resulting in two broken wrists, and  a back injury.  My camera also broke when it crashed on our tiled patio. Of course I was upset, but with two broken wrists I couldn't use my camera anyway. It took twelve months of physio, that is six months on each wrist, to get the strength back, so I could open and close my own front door, open jars and milk bottles, and eat a steak for example. Hubby used to cut up my solid foods, and for a couple of months, my daughter Eve helped me to shower, and dress, washed my hair, and did any chores she know I wasn't able to do.

During this time our precious little Teckel became ill. She passed away a month later, being only 9 years old. We were distraught, and inconsolable. She had brought a light into our lives , which has now been extinguished. Mel is dearly missed. She was buried in a flower bed in our garden, and there is a bench there, where we can sit.

I forgot to tell you that after falling, I developed Tendinitis in my right shoulder, and both my arms, and I couldn't even hold Mel in my arms, in case I dropped her. I'm welling up as I write this, so l will stop writing now.

My heart is hurting with yours.. so sorry Mel is gone and could not have come at a worst time. I cant imagine how difficult life has been for you while recuperating. My mind is busy coming up with all the things you could not do with 2 wrists not working..prayers and hugs for your health and your broken heart.. tears are healing, so let them flow..post when you can we will be here. and on top of these two things you came back to a blogger gone mad with changes.

I am so sorry to hear of all the problems you have had. I hope you are well over your medical issues now. Losing a dog is such a hard thing. I still feel so sad when I think of Jimmy, our chocolate Labrador who died six years ago. You have a beautiful garden and that is such a lovely spot.

I am glad that you have returned to full (?) strength and are able to blog again. Perhaps better to look forward and not dwell too much on the past if it causes you grief.

I am SO sorry that you’re going through all this pain, my friend. Breaking your wrists is crazy..... I remember when my granddaughter broke both her wrists years ago on the monkey bars and how we had to do “everything” for her....it wasn’t easy for her. Then therapy after that... so challenging and so sad that you’re going through this...and to lose Mel was heartbreaking. When I lost Cali I was broken-hearted....since it was during COVID I needed to adopt again. Are you ready for this? The shelter said I was too old to adopt!,, that made me even more angry so I put My daughter as the “owner”.... crazy times right? The shelter is Ruff House on Long Island. Needless to say Bambi is very happy living with an old Lady!!!! Really?
I will be praying for you to fully recover .... and to get full strength in your hands!!!! Sending hugs...
