Monarch Butterfly, Goats and White Pigeon.

It's been some time since I have posted a fence or gate, for Gosia's meme Fences Around The World, and I'm not even sure this ever was part of one, but when I saw this unloved discarded frame, that's what I'll call it, I decided to give it some space on my blog. There were other metal scraps dumped in a hole nearby, which I would never have seen, if I hadn't been chasing a Monarch Butterfly, which led me a merry dance through knee high flowers. Some goats, and a pigeon with all white plumage were my next finds.

I truly enjoyed this joyful post! Even the old discarded gate is beautiful and seems as if it belongs there. I think chasing a monarch butterfly through knee-high flowers sounds like the loveliest possible way to spend a morning. And 'catching" the beautiful monarch with your camera made it even more perfect. Thank you for sharing it -- and all of your lovely photos.

Is that a pigeon or a dove? Looks like a spirit of peace to me. Some lovely subjects beautifully captured. Thanks for sharing them.

A wonderful little vignette of your day. It's pretty hard not to be totally enamoured of someone, even at a distance, who can turn the discovery of a piece of scrap metal into a pleasing jaunt through a meadow. You can come with me on my walks any time you want, and I am sure you will transform the mundane into the delicious.

It's interesting that you have Monarchs Sonjia. I didn't think there were Monarchs on this side of the Atlantic until I went to Fuerteventura. There was a small colony there and I don't think I ever found out about their origins. Did the Monarchs as long didtance migrants originally cross the Atlantic or were they introduced to the island? More surpisingly, I don't think they are on other Canary Islands, depite the close proximity. Think I need to more reading on the Internet.

Love the monarchs!!! But that White Pigeon......that's not a Rock Pigeon is it?? That's such a beautifully white and perfectly plumaged bird. If that is a Rock Pigeon, it's the most perfect one I've ever seen!
