Zebras and an Owl at the Santo Inacio Zoo

The Zebras were a special favourite of ours. These two were enjoying a meal, whilst we were admiring the unique design on their beautiful coats.

Awe!!:)

The first time I saw a Zebra with ears in that position.

Hello!

One eye on me!

Still Curious!

Their markings, so different, but both so beautiful.

One of the gates at the zoo, for Good Fences.

A closer look at the lock.

The entrance to the reptile house but we didn't go inside this time.

Another restaurant area. photo taken early morning.

Don't you just love their mane, and those dazzling stripes.

Zebra are truly gorgeous creatures. I have seen two species in the wild and it is true that you can identify individuals by the pattern of their stripes. It is sad that they are losing habitat everywhere. What we are doing to our wildlife is a travesty.

Didn't see you sneak this posting in!

It's a little known fact that Zebras have to use Bar-Code readers in order to recognise each other. Unlike sheep, who use Baa-Code readers :)))

The Snowy Owl is a delight, lovely image

Such a lovely photo's Sonjia. I am always amazed that animals don't need make-up to be beautiful. The owl stole my heart.
Have a lovely sunday.

Really cool pictures! In a couple of them, the zebra looks like a unicorn with a horn in the middle of his head!

Your images of the Zebras are absolutely delightful, Sonjia. They are such handsome creatures. Whilst I expected each one to have a unique pattern of stripes, I didn't appreciate that the differences were so great, as exhibited by this pair. The one with the narrower stripes is exquisite - particularly with those magnificently striped legs. Such a joy to behold.

With my best wishes - - - Richard

Hi Sonjia: Congratulations on seeing a Snowy Owl in the zoo. In the area where I live this is a relatively common winter species and I am sure I will see several before they head north again. It is always a spectacular find!
