There is a park quite near to where we live that is mainly used at weekends for picnicing in good weather, as there are several stone benches and tables placed in clearings around the park, but during the winter months it is deserted. We like to go there now and again, in the hope of seeing birds that I wouldn't normally see on the farm or in the garden. Hubby takes his binoculars, and I take my old camera, which I'm delighted to tell you, has now been repaired after the damaged part was replaced by another sound one, found in a camera of the same model. I am so pleased, as it a treasured part of my daily life, and like a trusted friend, and to be honest I missed it on my daily walks, and was so used to it that I would have found a new one quite complicated to use.
The gnarled trees there, are very old and full of crevices and holes, which attract certain kinds of birds, and the moss covered stones and walls also attract insects, but today I am sharinga few Nuthatch images, and the natural environment.
Hello, this fine afternoon! That park is so like the one of my childhood with so many paths & rock fortresses to explore! The trees are wonderful too providing lots of summer shade for picnics! The shots of the nutcracker are so sweet! Enjoy your weekend!
Dear Sonija, how beatiful place and how beautiful pictures!!! Soon I have pleasure of live a month with my family ...a bit afar from blogland. Hugs and Kisses,Rita.
What a beautiful park. It is so natural-looking. I love the nuthatch. There has been one visiting the bird feeder at my father's house all winter. Sadly, he is in hospital and even though I put food in the feeders each weekend, the birds have stopped coming. I was at his house all day today and didn't see one bird at the feeder.
Hello, what a beautiful place. I love the lovely trees and the sweet Nuthatch! Great series of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week!
I love those trees with character....this one is perfect for birds to play in. Glad your camera is fixed...I as well take my camera everywhere I go....you never know what you'll see. 💕
It's good to hear that you got your old friend back in good order. I find it difficult to get pictures of Nuthatch (apart from in the hand)because around here they are generally shy.
This species seems to have colonized NW England recently, when I was a kid they were very rare up there and now when I return for a visit they are very common...........
I'd forgotten about your camera. You are so lucky to get it repaired these days and I'm so glad for you because I can see that it is an old friend. Beautifully focussed pictures as usual. You have a keen eye for interesting shots.
Glad you got your camera back, I know the feeling when it is in repair!! Lovely nuthatches, I bet they would live in such a wooden area, especially if people come to picnic there! I have seen none in my garden contrary to years past until 2 days ago! Cheers, keep well :)
I'm glad your camera is repaired so that you can restore beautiful pictures. You leave here, therefore, like all many beautiful pictures of the park. Beautiful stones with moss and trees are magnificent. Delicious spotting birds with your husband :-)
What a beautiful park. The Nuthatches are so cute. Guess one wouldn't be able to steal that picnic table! (Not that I would try). Nice fences there as well. - So happy you were able to fix your old camera. They do become like friends in a sense.

You have a beautiful place to walk, and you make good use of it. Glad we met!
What a wonderful, gnarled old tree. It almost overshadows the Nuthatch.

Beautiful Nuthatch images, and there was the scenery.
These are always such enjoyable birds to have around. Really loving the bird and your scenery here.
What a lovely spot to frequent...if not for the birds, the scenery!!...:)JP
Very cute little busy bird.

We have the White-breasted Nuthatch here. Different color, but loves to climb on trees upside-down just like yours.
;-)
