Sea Stars at the Seaside

This is embarrassing, I did Not mean to publish this post just yet. I was editing it when it disapeared from my screen, only to reappear as my latest post. I will have to be more careful in future. Well I might as well finish editing it, here goes. The Starfish or Seastar are sea invertebrates, usually with five arms, thousands of tiny tube feet and a mouth at the centre of the oral,or lower surface. Most can regenerate damaged parts or lost arms. I found them washed up on the rocks, and the seagulls were pecking at them, so I threw them back into the sea where they could regenerate without being disturbed.

Good morning, what a great post. I love the geese and the gull. And the seastars are awesome. Their colors are beautiful. Great photos and post. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy Sunday and new week ahead!

I believe this is an Egyptian Goose? Not sure. They're reported in our area, but I've never seen one in 'real time'. Love those images boat-side. And your starfish...excellent.

I've done that myself many times, working on editing, and click publish instead of save.

Thanks for sharing this post with us over at I'd Rather B Birdin' this weekend. Much appreciated.

All those photos are very appealing. I do love seas. I regenerate well in any part of nature.

Please don't be embarrassed, the same thing has happened to me a few times, but I learned how to stop it by making sure I schedule the post for when I wish it to appear before I even begin the post. I want you to know that your post has brightened my day and I love all your photos! Here in Montreal it has been chilly and rainy both yesterday and today. I love the rain and the cooler temperatures, it is a relief from the extreme heat and humidity that we had. Your post is providing some sunshine in my heart. Thank you! :)

You must be a little out of practice there Sonjia!!! I love starfish. When I was a countryside ranger I used to love telling the kids about how they could see with their arms and about their eating habits! It has always intrigued me that they have feet on their arms!!

Enjoyed your photos of the boats, birds, and starfish. I'm sure they were grateful you rescued them from the gulls!

How neat to find all those sea stars and to be able to rescue them from being eaten by gulls.

I like the first shot of all those boats at rest in the water. And the starfish images are super. (I hit those magical keys that publish before I mean to at least once a month.)
