Guzzling Greenfinch

Greenfinch are notoriously greedy. They will stay at the feeders until every last seed has gone, and they have seen off all the other birds. I'm linking up with Stewart at Wild Bird Wednesday, and on Saturday with Annie at I'de Rather B Birdin at the Bird D'pot. Just click on the link to see many more birds from around the world. Green fits the St Patrick's Day theme. In the USA we have green female Painted Buntings.

I'm loving this!! They are truly 'green' in color. A perfect group of photos. And the narration taught me a bit about them which I like.

I know I'm in my Hootin' Anni Admin for the personal blog, but I'll add a special thanks for linking up at I'd Rather B Birdin' too while I'm here.

Thanks!!!

Someone told me that these green Gussling Greenfinches come in Canada that color and as the summer begins to warm up. They turn to the real yellow we see fliting about.

I guess we have been told a fairytale. As it looks these are the original colors. So delicate they are like a canary.

Looks like I missed this post. Great shots! Goldfinches are our state bird, but I've never seen a greenfinch.
