Eight Spots.

I came across this  pretty red beetle with eight black spots the other day, but don't know what it's called. I have seen similar beetles with six spots, but never eight. It has wings, because I saw it flying. If anyone knows it's name, I would appreciate you telling me.

De kleur doet erg veel vooral hier.

I haven't met it either, it must be specific to the iberian peninsula.
Surely you must have a coleoptera guide in Portugal :)
Very nice and sharp picture!
I am sure you could see marmots in the Pyrenees if you can go there but you'll probably have to wait until next year now!
Enjoy your sunday, Sonjia!

I reads your message for help re ID but I'm not familiar with this species. It looks like a Leaf Beetle (Chrysomelidea) and very similar to a Clytra species.

Sorry I can't be more definite.

I think it is 'Mylabris quadripunctata', but I'm not quite sure. A beautiful image.

Hi Sonjia!

Nice and bright colours this beetle has to display - very much resembling the smaller and more popular ladybird the children like to play with.

Great shot!
