A Wheatear

Isabelline Wheatear   Oenanthe isabellina
 

 

 

 

 

 
The Isabelline Wheatear is the largest of the Oenanthe species. It has a long body, length 16.5cm, usually held noticably upright.

To my knowledge, the Isabelline is uncommon where I live, so I was delighted to encouter a new species( for me) on my walk on the farm with Mel.

Btw, when growing wheat grass, if your weather is dry, use a plastic cover instead of the steamer cover or cloth to cover the berries.
