A Room With A View

As we explored the very rural area surrounding Boticas I came across this open doorway, and it caught my imagination.

Wow, what a stunning place and view. By the way, what is the bird - looks a bit like a Black Redstart??

There are places where time has stood still ... in this magical atmosphere intersect many thoughts. They are very beautiful places where life could be very hard for those who was born there. Your photo is precious, how precious is the time that embroidered on the stones, and precious beauty of hills sight. Thanks for share, dear Sonija!

It was rustic but very beautiful!

The rustic simplicity of Boticas is charming, and it's known for the wine vinho dos mortos,( wine of the dead.) The ancient practice of burying the wine for two years is still done today, and I can vouch for it's quality. It does look like a Black Redstart Jerry, but it didn't stay around long enough for me to get a positive ID.

Hello Monica:)

Boticas is situated in Northern Portugal not far from the Spanish border.I am almost sure that the room is only used for storing farm equipment, like a garage.

I will visit you very soon:)

Boticas is situated in Northern Portugal, not far from the Spanish border. It has a very good wine called (Wine of the dead) translated from (Vinho dos mortos)
If you Google this info you will find out all about it.

Hello Brown Eyes:) Always a pleasure to see you here:) Yes, we were in Boticas! We saw quite a few fields with horses, perhaps some belonged to you! We went that way to visit the newly opened Park de Natureza é Biodiversidade, and especially the Borboletário.

Another beautiful picture! Love those stones (I mean wall) - the texture is marvellous. Btw, the Senecio confuses vine you pointed out in my blog, it is a butterfly nectar plant! Cheers, Stephanie

Stephanie
Thank you my friend:) The patina of the aged stone adds interest to the picture I think, I like it also:)

It was kind of you to tell me about the Senecio confuses vine, ..I will try to purchase one.

It doesn't have to be symbolic but
a gateway leading to a bird outside a cage, and the sunny uplands beckoning to infinity is quite a narrative.
