Algarve and Stonechats

A family gathering! All these shots were taken from the car window, after a shower.

The bird on the post was very vocal. I wonder what all the noise was all about! The other birds tweeted back.

Perhaps he was the youngest wanting to be fed! He flew from post to post, tweeting very loudly, but the other birds stayed put.

The sky looked like there were more showers to come, only good weather for ducks, not for taking photos.

Young female Stonechat.

The same vocal youngster. After taking this shot, it did start raining, so reluctantly we went home.

young or old he/she is to cute for words. I can see the sun shining after the rain, so maybe he was shouting for joy after the rain. but probably asking for food like you said.

What! Rain on the Algarve in April? While I was there around the same time we had wall to wall sunshine. I am glad that you were able to capture some lovely shots before the rain fell. I don't think I have seen a stonechat before.

Len

It was in May, and just a freaky shower, with overcast skies. The next day was really sunny.

Excellent capture on the little birds and indeed, their gestures make wonder what they really discus about! How nature bought things different to keep life interesting to wonder and ponder of existence? I totally leave for admiration

What a great encounter. It is always encouraging to see that birds have had a successful breeding season. I hope that the little one on the post gets its fair share of food and goes on to a productive adult life with offspring of its own.

How sweet they all are! We have a noisy little wren that looks a lot like yours. It's so hot here right now, we're not seeing as many birds at our feeders. Hugs!

Even though the day was grey and rainy, these chirpy stonechats must have brightened up your day with their tweets - the proper kind I might add!!
Lovely to see them interact and watch their bright little eyes!

I get a lot of that white background , just before a storm or, in Florida, early in the morning ... but if I were you, I wouldn't be disappointed in it, because it makes your pretty little stonechats stand out beautifully. I bet that was a young bird and they were trying to make it eat on its own. Birds parents don't seem to have too much trouble letting go of their offspring when it's time (I think some human parents could take a lesson from them).

It's so nice to see so many Stonechats as i don't see many in the UK, only in other places. I look forward to hearing their stone clicking calls.
