Simple Gates and Flora and Fauna

Just a few images of what I saw this week on the farm and in the countryside, and a few from the archives to share for Good Fences, and Today's Flowers.

?!!

I rather like the little bell on this studded gate.

A lizard, seen from time to time in the garden.

This plant grows wild on the farm.

These Camellias are in bloom now.

Some of my favourite leaves from the garden.

Honestly I don't remember if I have posted this one, or a similar one before.

The sun was shining on the Pampas Grass on the hillside, ...just impossible to ignore!!

I love the rich colour of these leaves.

We pass this house on our way to town, and I like the simple lines of this gate. Photo taken in March this year.

Begonia leaves from a potted plant.

Another studded gate and ivy clad fence.

A closer look at this simple country fence.

Such clarity in your shots! Just back from Chichester and boy has the weather turned colder today. The leaves will be dropping soon.

Heisann, wonderful shots, I love colourful fences, but have no fence myself! Some of our butterflies have gone by the wind to Africa, I read in the paper! Have nice days ;:OD)

I'm trying to work out the fruit (or nut)in the first picture. It looks familiar in some way. I'm also thinking that the lizard is the same one I see in Menorca, the Italian Wall Lizard.

Sorry about my obsession with wanting to put names to everything!

Nice sunny images again. And from the houses you show now and again I do like your neighbourhood. It looks very peaceful.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having an inquiring mind, actually it's quite refreshing.:) Phil, The tree-like bush has yellowish white blooms in May, which have the most beautiful perfume,....and the rough to the touch berries are attractive, but unfortunately I can't discover the ID. The lizard however is the large Ocellated lizard, which is considerably larger than the Italian Lizard, not obviously so, in the photo, as I had to crop it and loose the tail. They seem to like our garden. On my side bar you can see more of the same under Lizards.

Tremendous shots. When I see your images of the flowers and the berries it's easy to appreciate why traditional artists have been drawn to still life so frequently. And thanks to Phil Slade for the naming exercise; I too always try to put a name to things.
