Local Lizard

Ocellated Lizard
Lacerta lepida

Cautiously he came out of his hiding place,
decided I was not a threat so went to lounge on top of the rock.

Ocellated Lizard
Lacerta lepida

This is the male of the species as it is more colourful.

Hi!

I remember my young days when I used to find them ugly and threatening; and then we would find pleausure in catching them...But then age changes the way we look at things, and now their looks are absolutely beautiful, in spite of keeping that same scary look about them...

Lovely pictures.
Have a nice week end!

Deliciosamente lindas todas as fotografias que por aqui vou vendo. As cores da natureza no seu melhor e a arte indubitávelmente grande de uma extraordinária fotógrafa.

Parabéns.

Hi!
Yes, it's true that with age we are more accepting of things.I used to be a little afraid of these
large lizards with their whip of a tail until I started to study and photograph them.

Enjoy your Sunday, many thanks for passing by.

Filip and Kristel

These lizards have lived in my garden for years, but I don't see them often as it's a large garden
and there are so many places for them to hide.

Thank you for passing by.

Breathtaking many people who are afraid of these animals, I do not. Do not tease me any kind of revulsion. Beautiful photos that capture the characteristics of the animal. kisses

Jest piękny, chociaż gdybym go zobaczyła pierwszy raz na wolności, to może bym się wystraszyła. Pozdrawiam.
It is beautiful, although I saw him the first time in the wild, it can'd be scared. Yours.

They, are very much afraid of people. Glad you see the beauty in
them. Thank you for your nice comment.

Giga

Hi giga
Yes they can look a bit scary and menacing because they are the largest european lizard, and they do look a bit mean.
Thanks for stopping by.

His/her first appearance on the cat-walk brought to mind repeat pattern tiles. Now there's more an impression of a perambulating QR code-(the new square bar-codes now so widespread).Mobile phones can "read" these, so he/she could be communicating...let me know..please.x

Breathtaking said...

Hi Ian
I think he comunicates more with his eyes than with his suit!!

The Creator is truly an amazing artist. None of His creation ever looked ugly.

I have a bracelet made of tiny beads which looks like his skin.
